I'm not normally one for reviews unless it' very bad or borderline dangerous but had to do one for this product . I ordered these in desperation as I'd woken up with the mother of all cold sores and had one about 6 weeks earlier so was feeling very down. I managed to get a packet from the chemist as I couldn't wait , I must add I had never tried them before and would have done anything to help the pain and embarrassment of yet another 10 days hiding away I applied on the first day and was pretty impressed with it's camouflage qualities and the patch was big enough to cover my monstrosity , so day 1 was good. The pain was reduced but I still knew I had a sore but nowhere near as painful as before . Day 2 ,another good day, my sore is barely visible under the patch and has given me the confidence to go out and look people in the eye. Unless you know it is there you wouldn't see it in normal social circumstances Day 3. Today would be the time when a sore for me starts looking the worst. The horrid scabbing and yellow , brown and red rice crispy on the lip..but not today . It appears to not allow the scabbing to form and apart from some translucent skin it again is still barely visible under the patch and no pain either So for the first part of a horrendous cold sore these patches have been a godsend . I won't know if they heal any quicker (about 10 days for me) but really confident because of no scab forming this will be at least a couple of days less than usual Application is incredibly easy without having to touch the patch itself with fingers and I apply first thing in the morning and just before bedtime . No problem with it falling off but cream must not be applied first like anything with an adhesive backing Read the instructions first, don't be tempted to remove for a few hours as it won't work . I haven't tried applying make up over it as I don't wear much unless for special occasions but can't see why it isn't possible to cover the patch without detrimental effects . It does state on the packet that you can apply make up over the top . I love the product so much I ordered 3 packs so I always have plenty on me, keep some in my bag, car and at home as the sooner you apply the better Time to update and it is a week ago today with no sore . These have been such a revelation and will no longer worry too much about getting another cold sore. Yes, I'd prefer not to have any but whilst I have these little things then the pain will be far less and the social stigma of others seeing such a mess on ones face has gone There was not one scab formed, and this wasn't one of those little ones it was a monster . No patch on today and apart from a little pail pink mark barely visible without make up this is the quickest I have got over one, normally 10 days but still left with a scar If you follow the instructions to the letter on the packet especially how to apply you won't go wrong ..so glad I found these

Always buy these to cover my cold sore while I’m asleep, if I touch the area in my sleep then the patch prevents me from spreading it to other areas. I find that if the cold sore is on the lip the patch doesn’t stay on for 12 hours, brushing teeth and eating can cause the patch to come away, so I primarily use it overnight, and use acyclovir cream during the day, seems to work. The three pack is great, ensures I always have some to hand. The package arrived sooner than expected and the post man just popped it through the letterbox, great!

I have suffered from cold sores all my life, some of them have been so bad they have left scars, left my sinuses in agony, caused gigantic swellings and I have even had to go to the dentist before as one particularly bad time it had cause a mock abcess to appear in my gum. Cold sore creams and vasaline only ever seemed to feed it, aftershave perfume and lemon juices caused infected oozing scabs, saltwater did nothing but hurt and the little zapping machines always seemed to be one step behind the monster living in my face. I first tried compeed about five years ago as clearly I was willing to try everything. From the second that patch touched down I've never looked back. I can still remember the instant relief of pain and swelling that brought tears to my eyes and the short time it took to shrink down and dissappear. This is easily the best product I've ever used and in my opinion will ever use. The price isn't too steep, its a little more than the creams but you get 15 patches and depending on how bad the cold sore is (and how far it's spread) I can use a single patch or about a pack and a half, whenever buying I always usually try to get two packs as this means I've always got plenty on hand and always have some to start the next round if needed or the next attack. They are more or less clear and fairly matt so they're not too noticeable but usually need changing after eating. They've recently changed the application design which I was dubious about at first, as you always are when they change a product you love but it turns out the application is now easier and the patch is the same and works just as well. I always recommend this product to the point of lecturing and will never look back from this product.

These are amazing and work soooo well.

Don't squish the capsules as the sticky side faces the green bubble. I have used these for years and they do seem to keep the sore at bay. If you use them straight away they stop the cold sore from spreading, blistering or scabbing. They still seem to take a similar amount of time to heal (although I do think it shortens the time) but the whole thing is much less grim, plus there's peace of mind due to the much decreased risk of contagion. The new packaging is a massive, much needed improvement in my opinion, the old packaging resulted in many lost patches due to the finicky nature of the application method. These new ones are much simpler as long as you don't squish the little packets, when separating them hold them by the flat part. My only criticism is that if the site of the sore is towards the opening of the mouth they tend to flap up on that edge and need replacing much more often. When they are used around the mouth they stay on for ages but when they have the edge too far in then they're not long wearing at all.

work really well for me, i get cold sores quite bad and quite big, it helps keep them contained

Amazing only thing that work for me get ride of cold sores whilst protecting them from every thing else
