Tamiya Models Sand Bag Set

Excellent addition to dioramas and various kits (I'm currently using these on armor pieces to add realism). I've tried molding my own with varying levels of success, but when I'm in the mood to build and don't want to fool around too much with scratch building, these work great. I have heard alot of people say that these don't need to be painted, and I suppose it's up to the builder, but I always do (guess I'm just picky like that). I will always keep a few of these around going forward, because adding a sand bag here and there can really help make the difference, especially in a scene.

The kit contains two sprues. Each sprue contains 24 sandbags. Of those, 18 are 'flat' sandbags intended for stacking, with another 6 designed to go on top. Each one is about an inch long. So, the way you use them is pretty simple: Stack four layers deep, six long. Each sprue gives you 6" of sandbag line, so combined you've got 12" of sandbags. Stacked in this manner they're about an inch tall, so perfect for 28mm wargaming too.

Individual flat sandbags that build up into the form pictured or whatever other shape you want. Can also be added onto tank models.

As expected. They’ll be stacked on the roof of the D90 I’m currently building. With the webbing over them, I think it will add sense of realism to the Truck. Sand Bags are always useful out in the wild.

I had one set of sandbags but needed two more sets to complete my diaroma.

These are excellent for any sandbag barricade, they are easy to glue together; I have not yet painted them as they do not need it for most tasks. They are a good step in adding that real look to barricaded layouts. I will be ordering a few more because they don't come with very many with respect to what I need.

Pretty much what I expected - a good number of appropriately sized and not overly uniform appearing bags. I used them in a diorama with Tamiya's 88 mm gun in an anti-tank configuration. Being plastic, the bags look a little "overstuffed" and don't sag like the real thing (in the future, although it would require a lot more work, would favor making bags out of putty for a more realistic appearance, as has been recommended by Sheperd Paine and other pros).

48 sacos terreros por caja, la forma de los sacos, como se puede apreciar no es muy diferente. Creo que son demasiado grandes para ser de escala 1/35, se puede comprobar con el soldado de la foto que también es de Tamiya y al lado he puesto otro saco terrero hecho por mi con arcilla. En los vehículos blindados parece que quedan mejor. Por su precio merece la pena su compra. El envío por Amazon como siempre, perfecto.

Guess I should have expected it, but they come in massive sheets of individual sandbags. They aren't the easiest to glue together since they are open on the underside. Doable, but a bit of a hassle with lots of cutting and gluing.
