Surprisingly Good
For a textbook, I'm surprised at how well thought out it is. The chapters are shorter so as not to be overwhelming but still have all the essential information and I do appreciate how the information is laid out. This has made my advanced pharm class much easier.

Repetitive, describes every drug in the class, rather than focusing on ones in current use
I agree with others that the repetitive detail makes it useless after a point. My undergrad Pharmacology book by Lilley was much better organized so that you got the key points of the mechanism and side effects without overly repeating everything. I wish these textbooks could focus on the high points of the class then go into the exceptions when necessary. A good instructor should guide you toward the drugs we actually prescribe so you don't waste your time memorizing drugs that aren't even on the market any more, i.e. methyldopa, which is in this textbook and no longer sold in the U.S.

Easy to read
The authors did a fine job in making the text easy to read. The authors also draw attention to very important concepts. Very good illustrations throughout the book

Good content, durable
First, I love that when I highlight, it doesn’t bleed through the pages. It is also durable. Next, this has a lot, but good content. There are separate chapters that focus on the specific diseases, and there are chapters that focus on the drugs of those diseases. It includes good overview of the pathophysiology so that it can help readers make connections to the pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics of the drugs.
