Accord ABCDBRD06 Ceiling Damper with Round Butterfly Design, 6-Inch, Brown

This Accord ceiling damper is absolutely fantastic for controlling airflow in our HVAC system! The 6-inch size fits perfectly in our ductwork, and the round butterfly design provides smooth, precise airflow adjustment. Installation was straightforward with clear mounting points and solid construction. The brown finish looks much more attractive than standard white dampers - it blends beautifully with our wood-toned ceiling and doesn't stand out as an eyesore. works great. The T handles shaft that adjusts the damper is a bit flimsey, but the main unit is well made and looks like it will last for decades.

We got these and gave them to our hvac tech.... he told us that these were the best in the market and he was surprised we got them at this price. Well worth the investment.

I am confident that these dampers are highly functional in the proper instance. Unfortunately for me, our application wasn't suited so, rather than return them, I donated them to our local Habitat for Humanity where I am certain they will be used.

For me it was easy to install. Had to drill a few new holes in the damper to accommodate the old 4 hole defuser. I changed out 6 old dampers. My only problem was my balance on the step ladder. I'm nearing 89 years and have a bit of a problem with balance. Other wise, your wife could handle this chore, while you set back and bark instructions.

This Item was a pretty easy install and it allows me to shut down the airflow to the parts of my house that are unoccupied at night. They don't completely shut down airflow but they do an ok job. The air that leaks through makes a loud noise like a hepa air cleaner would sound on high

I bought and installed 8 of this in a rancher built in 1956. The original ones were made with flimsy plastic and the butterflies were mostly broken. This one is made with all solid metal and should last forever. Caution: It is pretty heavy and would make the installation a bit difficult if the ceiling hole does not have enough plaster to hold the screws. I also question the need to open and close the butterflies. The damper is designed to be closed during heating, and open when the AC cool air comes down from the air handler in the attic. What would it hurt to keep the dampers open? (since the air handler will block the warm air anyway.)
