4-Color Soft Gel Paste Food Color Kit

This brand cost more but you don’t need to use as much as typical grocery food coloring to get the true color. I have not noticed any aftertaste . Red is vibrant and true and black is true black. In my opinion

I have always used the "w" brand. I am so very pleased with the vibrancy of these colors and the price. They are high quality and, add no taste. They are easy to use, and will be the brand I use from now on.

I needed these for my annual King Cake, and they worked out great. I used to be able to get them from a local specialty store but it went out of business, so I was thrilled to find them on Amazon. I ordered the basic set, so I had to mix the purple, but that was no biggie. If you are used to liquid food coloring, especially grocery store types, you will be amazed at how strong the colors can be.

So like I said: Strong color, little goes a long way not too "gel" like and did not stain hands for days on end like other brands. I am often doing things at the last minute for the kids school parties and work functions or have a house full of guest gathered in the kitchen so it is never a focused relaxed cake decorating experience and at some point I will get this on my skin and I am happy to report I did not have dark green under my nails for days looking like some person digging in the dirt with their hands.

Strong coloring! Need only a few drops for for vivid coloring

Very nice colors! I see 6 colors, not 4. Because you can make orange and purple. You could actually also make brown and black. Unfortunately, purple was not a successful mix. Unless it take a rocket scientist to pull it off, and that I am not, I couldn't get a vibrant purple color. It was more of a mute lilac. The orange mix looked great.

I much prefer the gel as opposed to the regular food coloring, you just have to use a lot less to get much greater results. This pack is the perfect basic starter kit, which I used to make fake blood for a sci-fi short film. I made quite a lot of blood and my bottles of coloring are pretty much still full...I expect these to last me a long long time.
