I picked up the Stanley S1006 1" x 14' Ratchet Tie Down for securing loads in my truck, and it has exceeded my expectations. The build quality is solid — the strap feels durable, and the ratchet mechanism operates smoothly without any sticking or slipping. The length (14 feet) gives me plenty of flexibility for different cargo sizes, and the black/yellow color makes it easy to see and adjust when needed. I especially appreciate how easy it is to release after tightening — no fighting with jammed mechanisms like with cheaper straps I’ve owned in the past. Overall, this ratchet tie down offers excellent strength and reliability at a fair price. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy more when I need them. Great job, Stanley!

Loading up a pack rat container I forgot about tie-downs to secure the load. No need for high strength, plans are to pack things fairly tight - plus the heavy stuff is placed low so not likely to shift. The 500lb load rating is plenty. For the price, these seemed like the best bang for the buck. Luckily they shipped over night so we can start securing the load today. Most of the packing is tomorrow - will update review if anything crops up with usage. Only issue I have is how the package arrived, see photo. It was supposed to be neatly packed in a blister pack that’s heat/melt sealed every few inches. Upon opening the delivery bag, I found the blister pack ripped open and the contents were loose in the bag. Thankfully these seem to be rugged, well made, so appear to have survived the poor handling. It appears that either the package was mishandled at the warehouse and ripped open but put into the delivery bag regardless, or it was poorly handled after that point and came apart due to rough handling between the warehouse and my door. Ultimately Stanley failed to think about their packaging surviving worst case handling and should consider a package redesign to better survive. Since all appear ok, 1 star deduction for flimsy blister pack.

Used these to reseat a snow blower tire so they needed to be strong and easy to use with one hand. Worked perfectly. Haven't had an opportunity to use as a true tie-down, but these would definitely do the job.

This is a decent ratchet strap set for the price. Figuring out how to put the strap through the ratchet once you first get them might take a while if you’ve never used ratchet straps before, but it shouldn’t be too difficult. The handles are bulky and have a nice grip to them. The ratchet mechanism is strong and seems to be working perfectly so far. Likewise the strap itself seems to be durable. Ratchet straps are one of those things you will never regret buying.

Have used these for putting stuff on top of my car and they've worked perfectly. Have also used to transport soups/braises and locking my dutch oven's top down. Super versatile and easy to use (look up how to use ratchet straps if you don't know how first), I've never had the hold come undone, great thing to keep in the car as well.

I don't know if I'm just dumb or what but I tried to hang my ladder in my van with these straps and it did not go over so well. I tried them farther apart, closer together, tried here and tried there to no prevail. These straps are so awful I ended up throwing them in the trash. I didn't even feel like returning them, I just said screw it and tossed them. It seemed like no matter what I did, the scraps twisted, got stuck and I couldnt get a proper/tight hang. Thing is, these straps are sturdy but they are better used to strap atop a car or to strap a load in the pickup. It is not made for strapping in tight spaces. It's not the companies fault but I'm disappointed it didn't meet its purpose. It may work for others but not for mine.

These ratchet straps have worked well for me. I have used them internally on a Clarke portable garage (big green tent). I have these at an angle from each mid section and also vertically in each corner pulling down to some steel eye's set into concrete, so far has withstood strong winds, but the winter gales will really put them to the test.
