Had one of tgese for 30 years always worked great. Lost the plastic disc from bottom. So happy to find and buy this one.

Super works great & easy to clean up

Very useful "old fashioned" vegetable chopper. I like the glass jar instead of germy plastic. However, it is over-priced and it does eventually rust. That is why I removed one star.

WORST PRODUCT DESIGN EVER. Actually deserves ZERO STARS. Blades did not even REACH the bottom, they were at least 1/4" away, so it was incapable of chopping anything, much less chopping well. And it was poorly designed of the world's cheapest plastic, everything kept flying apart every time I tried to unscrew the lid. They only figured out how to make a good chopper like 75 years ago, I'm shocked nobody can make a decent simple chopper any more.

I bought this hoping it would match the sturdy, reliable onion choppers from 50+ years ago. Unfortunately, it doesn’t quite measure up. The glass jar is the best part—nice, heavy, and solid, just like the old ones. But the blades feel flimsy and seem too narrow or too short to reach everything in the jar, which means you end up with uneven chopping and bits that never get touched. The plastic top and plunger are just okay—functional, but not the durable, well‑made feel I was hoping for. It will work for light use, but if you’re expecting the same build quality as the classic models, this one falls short.

I had one for decades, but then lost it when I moved and I've been looking to buy a new one for years; however, it seems local shops are now only carrying modern style onion choppers that merely bash up/mash up onions without actually chopping them, so I'm so happy to find the classic (effective) onion chopper featured here :) The quality of this one is standard and just as described. The design of this device is simple, so it's easy to operate and clean. It's perfect when you just need to quickly chop/prep a small amount of food (like an onion, garlic, a celery stalk, some herbs, etc.) without having to drag out and plug in a food processor or one of those cumbersome box-type contraptions. This chopper is light enough to just grab with one hand, deposit a few peeled sections of onion and start plunging the bladed shaft up and down until you reach your desired fineness of chopped or minced pieces (which happens relatively fast). I'd like to highlight that this device is perfect for people like me, who don't have the level of dexterity to utilize the knife skills necessary to quickly chop onions and the like. I also enjoy the fact that chopping with this device takes place inside an enclosed glass, so it reduces/avoids... *the accidental cuts which sometimes happen while chopping food with an exposed blade *the direct exposure of sensitive eyes and noses to the Sulphur released when chopping onions *the stinging/burning on fingers from chopping certain chilies by hand *the staining associated with chopping certain beets/beetroot and similar foods *the quick oxidation of prepped ingredients waiting to be added to the main recipe Needless to say, I can definitely recommend it :)
