Probably the best bait traps on the market
I have four different mouse, not rat, traps due to living in the country. Mice are serious issue in the Fall and we try and wipe them out before Winter sets in. The mice learned that the bait we used the previous three years was poison and stopped eating it, so they infested our home. We switched to traps and a new bait this year. They started breaking the bait traps open. These, medium sized bait stations, are large, but simple to use and very well constructed. The key to open them, its an actual key, is designed to clip onto the bottom of the box and the bait has hangs on a wire inside the trap as all bait has a hole through the middle. Very, very well engineered and well worth the purchase. Highly recommend.

Simple and easy
The plastic keys are a bit awkward to use.

Amazing Product!
Amazing product!I started with the electric shock type. Thought I had 2rats.1 went in but backed out before getting strong enough shock to kill. After that they will not go near it. Moved on to old fashion rat traps but now I am seeing baby rats. These things breed like nothing else.I could only put traps up high because of my dogs.So baby rats aren't climbing yet. Those baby rats had more baby rats.Don't believe you can saturate cotton balls with peppermint oil. You will just be providing them with a comfy bed in which to raise baby rats. These work and the poison in the box so no chance of dogs accidently ingesting. This does not come with bait,so I also bought Victor Rat Bait Station because it came with 6 additional bait. The rats loved this bait. Before the rats would hide during day but first day I put boxes down I could hear at least 1rat entering the box to eat many times til about 11 AM. I believe they feel safe in the box while eating. Result I found a dead rat everyday. Careful if you have pets. The rats will die in plain sight on your floors.End of story: I set these out Jun 26th and I do not have rats anymore. I can not say enough great things abt this product.I did see complaints abt durability ,but it has held up well enough so far.

Buy the other version
The bait box is sturdy and large enough for rats. The only problem is the steel keys are very difficult to unlock the box. A lot cussing and skinned knuckles, taking up to 5 minutes. You must use both keys at once and use your third hand to get the latches to release.

So far so good!
Put out the bait stations and less than 24 hours later I found a dead mouse laying in the middle of my garage. Let's see if I can get some more of them. So far so good! Product is effective and they are small and light weight.

Doesn't catch the mice.
Misleading. Doesn't actually catch the mice. The bait YOU put inside lures them, but they eat it and then can get out of the box, free to roam the area. The attractant (that does not come with it) but is rather an additional cost, is what kills them, the box is basically useless. You end up finding dead mice in random places. I had thought it lured them in and then trapped them. As it is, you still have to hunt down the mice so that they don't decay. The mice get out and then are still free to wander and die later. Where they rot depends on how far they get after eating the poison. NOT A GOOD idea when you have other animals and children that can come in to contact with the dead mice laying in random areas.

Good Purchase
These work well. I have had them down for about 6 months now. The box comes with a key to unlock them so that rodents and pests can not knock it open. They are a bit light so you made need to put something on top of them to prevent them from moving. They are easy to use and install. The bait fits inside of them with no problems.
