This stuff is great! I spread a little around the living room floor and my girlfriend goes into a frenzy scratching and pecking the ground to eat up her oyster grit - gotta get that calcium!

Oyster Shell for Chickens Perfected
If I could give this stuff 10 stars, I would. Think of the thing that your chickens always need but is very difficult to size correctly and to.make it palettable for your girls. Oyster shell would be correct. I ordered my first bag of this on a.day that I was very frustrated after receiving what was sold as oyster shell pieces on Amazon, which turned our to be standard beach shells that I can drive 15 miles to the beach and pick up. They were listed as Oyster Shell Flakes and the pictures looked like someone had finally perfected this nightmare of chicken ownership. When it arrived, I noticed that the bag was made with heavy water proof material. A big plus when dealing with Oyster shell Sure enough, when I opened.the bag, my impression of.the picture was spot on. Someone HAD perfected a way of processing Oyster shell into little, easy to eat flakes of Oyster. Our 17 chickens love them. They are low odor, snd perfect thickness. We just received our 8th bag. We won't use anything else.

Our layers and ducks pick it free-choice from the feeder without coaxing. **Pros** - Hard shell pieces, consistent look bag to bag - Pouch size is right for a small-to-medium flock between bulk orders - Pairs well with a dedicated calcium feeder (less waste on the ground) **Cons** - Leave the bag or feeder in rain and it clumps into a nasty brick - 4 lb goes fast if you’re used to 40 lb farm-store sacks Not a five only because it’s a consumable you’ll reorder—and wet storage will ruin a good product. Kept dry, it’s exactly what laying birds need.

We have had no eggshell issues since our chucks (chickens and ducks) started eating these.

Chickens will only eat this brand
Favorite brand of oyster shells. I wish it was a little cheaper BUT I get the good stuff usually is more expensive.
