Sorel's cold weather footwear is ideal for those participating in active winter sports like snowmobiling or sledding, or for activities where maximum protection is required -- like all-season hunting or fishing, or simply going to work.

Super warm motorsport boot!
The Sorel Alpha Trac Buckle Boot is an extremely well made boot for motorsport use. I snowmobile and these are perfect for me and in fact the best boot I have owned for this use. I wear a 14 and bought a 15 to have room so my feet would not get cold and also to allow extra room for wool socks, as my feet perspire a lot. This is a bad combination for cold weather, my feet have always been nearly impossible to keep warm, especially my right foot which I have broken before and may not have the best circulation. Out of the last 7 pairs of snowmobile boots I have bought in the past 5 years to try and keep my feet warm, I like these the best. Only two pairs of all these boots actually keep my feet warm, these and my sz15 Baffins. But these are smaller in the toe area and fit my foot pockets better and are safer for riding. Other large size boots I've had are so big in the toe that I can barely fit them in the foot wells and are tough to slip in and out while riding for maneuverability. I would not rate these as a good choice for a lot of walking, but they are easy to get on and off for me and the draw closure at the top is great for keeping snow out. I love the fact that they keep my feet warm warm warm and I like that the liners slip out to dry overnight. Five stars on these!

Looking for an EXCELLENT pair of boots? Here they are!
If you're looking for a pair of boots that will get you through many winters? Here they are. I've worn these in the middle of Alaska in the heart of a -30F blizzard and my feet were still warm and comfortable. They may look like space boots--but that's because they probably would protect you in space--they don't say that in the specs, of course, but if I were headed out of a space hatch, I'd definitely put them on first given the opportunity. These are heavy-duty boots. I don't climb mountains, but if I knew about climbing mountains, I'd probably say to bring these boots. If you're looking for an excellent pair of boots that will absolutely keep your feet warm, here they are. Stop surfing around, aimlessly procrastinating and just buy them. Your warm toes will thank you as your lifeless frozen torso floats through space.

The Alpha Trac Buckle Boot is the best pair of Winter Boots I have owned
I have only worn these boots 3 times while out ice fishing and they have really done the trick. I have never been ice fishing in the past where my feet didn't get a little bit cold or worse and my feet stay nice and warm with these on. The only small complaint I have about them is that it is hard to get them to feel snug on your foot with just the buckles. You can seem to cinch them down as far as possible and they feel a little too loose to me still. They will be fine for ice fishing or walking short distances in the snow but I wouldn't want to try and snowshoe with them due to the loose feel. I have tried to continually cinch the buckles tighter but to no avail. Otherwise they are great!

Nice boot, strange fit, could be a lot better for the price, try Baffin Impact boot
This boot sees so nice, I wish the fit had been better. The heel to toe length was fine, but all around my ankle, shin, and calf was too loose. Even with straps cinched to the max (which isn't really much) my ankles were swimming and heels lifted at each step.I also tried on a pair of Sorel Alpha Pac boots, in the same size, and found them to fit perfectly. They were also a better and taller gaiter than the buckle boots. The quality and rigidness of these buckle boots seemed great, and they were stiff, not quite like an alpine ski boot, but more stiff than other Sorel snow Pac boots. I never tested the warmth or waterproofing due to the poor fit around the ankle and heel. In my opinion, that is more important than if the boot were a little too long. The boots feel like they are supportive, but they are mostly just stiff. Inside, the ankle really slops around and both heels lift slightly when stepping.I think as they are now, they would be fine for a larger boned individual, or for limited activity or strictly riding snow equipment. I was after a more all-around winter boot. With improvements this style could be a five star...someday. The Baffin Impact looks like a better version of this boot, IMO.Pros:Qualityheavy dutyseemed warmCons:OverpricedVery limited adjust-ability/tightening bucklesLow gaiter height, poor gaiter closure (cannot really tighten much.)very heavy weightnot nearly snug enough around ankle and heel, and the buckles don't help much there.

Awesome for Ice fishing!
Very warm and durable. I use it for ice fishing and I can't find anything bad to write about this product. First time they were a bit stiff. But these aren't the boots to take on a trail. Last weekend walked few miles through a snow storm in a foot of snow. It was very comfortable walk. And did I say warm!!!Love them!

Warm Toes / Warm Heart
This boot is pretty awesome if I must say so! It keeps my toes nice and warm and I enjoy putting it on to go snowmobiling. The kick plate in the front of the boot helps protect my shin from bumps up against the machine. They are heavier boots so while you would not want to go hiking in them, I have used them for snowshoeing and they worked out better than expected for how heavy of a boot it was. The quality is excellent and I like not having to mess with laces when all they do is get wet and icy and turn useless. These buckles work much better.

Sorel Alpha Trac Great for Snomobiling and other cold weather
Have ridden in these boots 7 times so far this season and they work great. There were lots of comments on how stiff these are but for snowmobiling and working in the snow they are great. Once I learned the routine for getting them on and off it's not to bad. Only have had to separate boot and liner after every other ride and still not very wet, more damp from sweat than snow. Wasn't sure if the buckles would keep them tight enough but seems to be working fine so far. Only complaint is that I didn't buy three pairs.
