I was pleased with the quality of this cutter for scoring glass from a used picture frame for a new project. I also have a classic “Fletcher” glass cutter and actually found this one easier to use since the square block on the cutting head tracks more easily against a straight edge. Cut quality was reasonably good although there is definitely a skill to do in this! I might recommend picking up an old picture frame from Goodwill and practicing on a throwaway piece of glass before committing to your project, if glass cutting is new to you. I did not fill the oil reservoir, instead just hitting the tip with a drop of machine oil, which worked fine. I don’t want to store oil in it since I will only use it occasionally. The only negative I can see is that the plastic case doesn’t quite close all the way due to the set screw on the cutting head being a little too high.

I needed to do some basic glass cutting but had never cut glass in my life. I didn’t even know you could buy some thing like this to cut glass with until I googled it. This glass kit did exactly what I needed it to, it was very easy to use, approachable, and made great cuts the first time, even when being used by someone with zero experience. It also came with a really hopeful instructional insert , the carrying case is great too, it has those little foam holes that fit every piece perfectly. It even comes with a little plastic dropper bottle for the oil. Overall great basic product. And who knows? Maybe it’s also great at more advanced glass cutting work… but that’s not what I tested this product on. But at least for something easy yet effective this kits for you.

For the price its quite durable and a pretty good kit for starting out. I made a few cups from glass water bottles for the first time and it went pretty well. It was fun to use and I still use the cups years later :]

Cuts glass fine but the moment summer hit and the heat went up a bit, the thin plastic case warped extremely, the plastic cap of the oil container cracked and spilled out so 90% of the oil is gone and the container is broken.This is the only container to have issues in the heat in a pile of aliexpress bins so this is apparently the cheapest case China could make

This glass bottle cutter definitely gets the job done. It was easy enough to use once I got the hang of it and worked well for cutting bottles for craft projects. Like most bottle cutters, it takes a little practice, but overall I was happy with the results and felt it was a good value for the price.

My next-door neighbor runs the maintenance department at a local university and is also a former contractor. Between the two of us, we’ve adjusted and operated just about everything imaginable.This bottle cutter has one of the worst adjustment systems I’ve ever seen.The Amazon description makes it sound “adjustable and easy to use,” but that is absolutely not the reality. Every time you change bottle sizes, nearly the entire machine has to be partially disassembled and reassembled.The problem is the slotted adjustment tracks. They use oversized teeth that prevent the screws from simply sliding through the slots like a normal adjustable tool would. Instead, for EACH adjustment point, you have to:completely remove the screwscatch the loose nuts from falling offreposition the wheel assemblyguess where it needs to goreinstall everythingtighten it back downtest the bottlethen repeat the entire process again if alignment is offThere are SIX separate adjustment points.Changing from one bottle size to another means starting this process all over again. There is no quick adjustment system, no smooth sliding mechanism, and no practical repeatability.A properly designed tool would allow the wheels to slide and lock into place quickly. This does not.The actual materials look decent at first glance, but the engineering and usability are unbelievably poor. It feels like nobody who designed this ever actually used it.After about 3–4 minutes of trying to set it up, my neighbor looked at it and said, “This is the worst piece of crap I’ve ever seen. Send it back.”That’s exactly what I’m doing.Would not recommend.

The cutter itself worked great for me. I cut a diamond shaped piece in single-strength glass to replace a pane in an old window.I'd recommend ditching the included screwdriver. I wasn't able to get enough torque on the screw from the factory to get it out. A longer driver had no problem.

This is my first time using one of these. I am beyond happy! Found many old bottles on my sisters property, I wanted to make her a wind chime from items I found. This cut wonderfully! The directions are very clear. I still need to sand them, bit not much. So grateful for the product.
