Men's Classic Eco-Drive Leather Strap Watch, Date, Luminous Hands and Markers, Black Dial, Black Strap/Stainless Steel

This watch is beautiful, elegantly simple, and works perfectly. The date display is perfectly sized. Unlike some watches I own, I can easily read the date on this one. I particularly wanted the solar charged battery that drives this watch. This is my second Citizen watch with the solar powered battery. I also purchased another one for my son a few years ago that he loves and wears daily. Citizen pioneered this technology and it works superbly. I will be reluctant to ever again purchase a watch that requires a traditional battery that wears out and requires replacement. When I first took this watch out of its box and set the time, it initially ran a little slow and did not keep time accurately. But, after allowing it to be exposed to light for a little while (less than an hour), I re-set it and it has kept perfect time since. I would have preferred a genuine leather wrist band. I will get one if and when I need a replacement band. But the one that comes with the watch is certainly attractive, comfortable and functional and you have to feel it and look very closely to notice it is not genuine leather. I give this watch five stars!

This has been my favorite watch since the day I received it. I had reservations about owning a watch without a second hand, but the lack of one serves only to add to the solid feel of this watch. I set it on the day it arrived and to this day, I've not needed to adjust the minute hand at all. Sometimes when I'm still up at midnight, I hear my cell phone 'hum' to mark the beginning of a new day. When I look at my watch, it has been and continues to be as perfectly centered on the twelve o'clock mark as my eyes could ever detect and I'm a tad fastidious (ocd) when it comes to things like that. In fact, the second hand has been an issue with watches I've owned in the past. If it wasn’t clicking' exactly on the second markers around the face of the watch, I’d feel disappointed in the watch’s quality. As I write this, coincidently, I need to adjust the watch for Daylight Savings Time. (March 8. 2015) I received the watch on November 13, 2014. If things go as well as they have so far, I won't need to make any adjustments until Daylight Savings Time ends on November 1, 2015. Besides functioning as well as anyone could reasonably expect, this watch looks great. It’s easy to see the time at a glance, day or night. The hands and the hour markers around the face sparkle with a highly polished surface that I could have lived without, nevertheless, it has sort of grown on me and I really like it when I’m wearing it at formal affairs. The tiny window where the day of the month is displayed is a feature I could live without as well. I never really use it and if that’s something you want to use, you better have very good eyesight. All in all, I’m very pleased with this watch and I would recommend it to anyone without reservation.

A really nice watch for the money. It makes a good work watch that you probably won't mind getting a little scratched and dinged up. It's thin, light and you'll probably forget you're wearing it. It keeps accurate time and with eco-drive you don't ever have to worry about batteries. The fit and finish are very good, the only thing I didn't like is the weird sort of rounded over edge of the case sides. I would have preferred a more defined edge to the case, but with the brushed finish and rounded edge it doesn't catch much light and kinda goes unnoticed on the wrist. The strap was too thickly padded and doesn't really match this watch in my opinion. The design of the dial and the thin profile works well with button up shirts and polos, but it looked out of place with t-shirts or more casual clothing. From the viewing distance of an observer, the dial of this watch looks classier and more expensive than the competing Seiko SNK795, though the Seiko is still a nice watch, comes with a steel bracelet, and the overall shape and design seem to work with more styles of clothing and occasions. The Seiko is also an automatic and that seems to matter to a lot of people, but for this price point and for daily/work purposes I prefer the more convenient and accurate time keeping of this Cititzen watch. There's no seconds hand which might bother some people, but if you already have a few watches all with seconds hands it makes the look of this one more unique and interesting.

This is a very nicely designed and finished watch. The dial is simple (how I like them!) but quite beautiful with its starburst effect and the faceted hour markers. The lume allows me to easily read the time all night with no special 'charging'. I like the case shape and the lugs; it reminds me a bit of military watches. The tick (every other second) is inaudible under normal circumstances. This combined with the lack of a seconds hand makes for a very zen experience when checking the time. And of course with Eco-Drive it keeps going, and going, and going ... My one gripe is Citizen's standard gloss black padded leather strap that comes with it. It just doesn't match the spirit of this watch. I immediately put it on a Barton black silicone strap which suits it perfectly in my opinion. This combo is light, comfortable, classy and very modern looking. But it does push the total up around $100. Compared to other quartz watches, Eco-Drives aren't exactly cheap, but they are well-made and have a great warranty. The official water resistance on this one is just the basic "rain and hand washing" level, but I know that people have swum and even snorkeled with other Citizens that have the same rating. I wouldn't make a habit of it but if I needed to do it I wouldn't be too worried ... at least while the watch is new and the gaskets are fresh.

This watch can be worn either casual or dress, which one of the reasons it is perfect for me. I'm not a watch expert but I know that this watch has been keeping time very accurately and I really like the fact that I don't need to continually replace the battery (Eco-Drive is awesome). I was considering paying 300-500 dollars for a Gucci or Burberry watch but I'm glad I chose to go with this one instead. I'll probably upgrade when I feel more comfortable spending that much money on a watch but for now this does and the job and some more. Ultimately, this watch is the best looking watch under 150 dollars for sure. I've gotten plenty of compliments on my watch and I am very happy with it. No buyer's remorse whatsoever.

Took advantage of Prime's early Black Friday deals, and got this watch on a good deal. My first Citizen watch, and first watch with Eco-Drive tech. First the watch is classy, simple and elegant, it's not loud enough to attract attention but just subtle enough to get notice or recognized. I currently don't have an issue with the watch band, it's leather and comfortable. Not having a second hand initially thought would be strange, but it doesn't bother me at all, it actually looks more dignified that way. I don't spend a lot on watches, so at the MSRP I probably would've skipped on it, but Prime's low price deal on it was too good not to dive in, glad I did. Update 4 Dec 2020: Ended up purchasing a Barton Top grain leather watch band on Amazon. Sooo much better than the Genuine leather band provided with the watch. Highly recommended.

Nice little watch for the price. The face has a nice finish to it. The picture on amazon gives a reflection on the glass which makes it look like this watch has a seconds hand, however it does not. Keep it mind if you want that feature. This watch being solar is very convenient in the long run. No going to the store to get a battery replaced. The leather strap on this watch is definitely on the "tough" side. I really had to work it to get it bend around my wrist easily. However it does look nice once it's softened. Overall very happy with the quality on the glass, the face, and the housing. Especially considering the price.

It's SOOO stiff! I was torn between keeping it and trying to "break it in" or returning it before creases/cracks showed up in the band. It is so stiff in its formed shape that it makes the watch face shift uncomfortably on my wrist and is always off center on my arm when I go to check the time. I could have replaced the band but I just thought it should be wearable right out of the box. I loved the watch itself and the blue glow is really cool but the band was the deal-breaker for me and I had to return it. The watch face/mechanism deserves a 5 but the band is a 2 at best.

The luminous dial is not as visible in the dark, as other cheaper watches I have purchased in the past, somewhat disappointed

Reloj elegante y muy ligero, va perfecto con traje pero también combina con ropa casual. El que sea ecodrive hace que te olvides de cambiarle la pila por mucho tiempo. Muy recomendable.

Great watch. Bought this for my brother who said he doesn't wear watches. Now he wears it all the time. The size is perfect and the band is comfortable.
