Arrived in great condition. Review: History Pockets are SO FUN! - We LOVE Evan-Moor brand, so when I saw these History Pockets, I had to nab every.single.one. of them. I love that they are reproducible, that they give something for my kids to work on quietly with their hands when they are listening to me reading the lesson, and gives them easy yet fun projects to work on to bring the lesson to life. My kids always learn better when they have something they are creating to really bring home the lesson. They love these and can't wait to do the next book too! My kids are 2nd and 4th grade and these are easily their favorite lessons for homeschool.

Good for supplemental fun
I homeschool and bought this for my 8 year old. She's enjoying it, as she likes cutting, coloring, pasting - anything hands on. We're using this as a fun addition to other materials. If you're looking for something to fully cover the Revolutionary War for history, this is NOT it. But if you want a fun, hands on supplemental, it's good. We also use a more in-depth Constitution Course from a different publisher, and my daughter reads many children's books on the Revolutionary War, as well as biographies of movers and shakers of the day, including Washington, John Adams, Sam Adams, Jefferson, Ben Franklin, Paul Revere, and more. I really think to understand the Revolutionary War and the events leading to it, and what came because of it, one must read several books in addition to any course. There are good videos out there too that we intend to incorporate as a plus. Anyway, we are enjoying this pocket book. It's a nice addition - it's definitely not a stand alone, in my opinion. Very affordably priced as you can use it for several children, or for a classroom, ie if you teach in a homeschool co-op. I recommend it.

Super motivating for our homeschooler!
We love the inspiring suggestions and prompts with this book. Our sixth grader is a history buff, but needed a guide and plan to organize his thoughts and the topics of the Revolutionary War. This has been just what he needs!

Another great addition to the series
At a homeschool convention, a speaker mentioned making scapbooks to reflect what the students are learning. History Pockets area a great way to do that for us who are artistically challenged! There are plenty of hands-on activities that fit nicely into a portfolio/scrapbook. I would not use this book as a stand alone though and feel that my child had adequately covered the American Revolution. It needs plenty of books to fill out the information. My daughter has especially enjoyed the Jean Fritz books and History Makers series.

Awesome resource!
I love using these. It adds excitement and helps the kids make connections about something that happened so long ago.

It’s okay, but..
Love the Information, and being able to create fun pockets for extra learning, but definitely don’t like that you basically have to print or “reproduce” all the cut out pages in order to use it. Otherwise you cut up another page you’ll need to use.
