Parker Frontier Matte Black GT Fountain Pen - Fine Nib

Good basic matte black pen. Gold trim is nice and shiny, but doesn't make the pen look gaudy. Converter already installed. No cartridge; you should be using bottled ink anyway. No cleaning required out of box (makes it giftable), inked up the pen and it wrote right away. Cap snaps on with a definite tactile click so you know it's closed. Posts well, grip is plastic or resin and I don't find it slippery. My pen is a fine point and writes as a western fine. Not a wet writer with Parker Quink blue ink. Smooth with very little feedback; nib needed no tuning out of box. Overall a very nice giftable pen, everyday writer, or addition to a pen collection. Will update in a few months on nib dry out time.

I have too many fountain pens. I know that the perfect pen exists and I'm close to finding it, though I feel as though my search has been set back by this horrible abomination of a pen. Okay, I'm being dramatic. I get that this is a "lower end" model of a Parker pen. I get that the tip is fine. But it doesn't feel nice to write with to me, and I also don't like the way it lays ink on paper. This pen is perfectly functional. It's a fairly lightweight pen, since it's made of matte plastic instead of metal. I haven't experienced and leaks with the included converter. The matte surface is comfortable in my hands, but it is easily marred. Just by tossing it into my bag once, I've noticed that there are light scratches on the body of the pen already. It doesn't impact functionality as the pen's functional components seem fairly durable, but it will lose a lot of its aesthetic qualities almost immediately. I do not like how the pen writes. I have a [[ASIN:B0DRP235WV Jinhao 58}}that has an extra fine tip. It writes better than this Parker pen, at less than half the price. Yes, that's a twist-on cap, but it's the writing quality that matters much more to me than the cap style. It lays down ink better than the Parker pen, in a way that's more consistent and skips less. This pen is so very inconsistent with its ink flow though that a single stroke will have a wide variance in the color saturation of the line that's been put down. If you write slower it shouldn't be a huge issue, but I write quickly and even wet inks can't keep up - the nib is nearly dry by the end of my word, so each word goes from darker to lighter at the end. The fine nib on the Parker Frontier also scratches a bit on paper. It does not glide nearly as smoothly as the Jinhao 58's extra fine nib, but it's not actually scratching my paper. With the huge number of fountain pens available on the market and the dozens of brands to choose from, Parker is consistently falling to impress me with their offerings.

The package was already open when I opened it. The fountain pen had no packaging at all, and the box was cracked.

Email and texting have their place but a hand written note or letter is much more personal. The Parker Frontier Fountain Pen will get that done for you. This pen is a superb value. It performs as well as other pens that cost 4 times as much. It has a great feel in your hand and it flows across the paper bringing out your finest penmanship. The fine nib seems to be more on the medium side but it will adequately bring out your unique hand writing style. My fellow Americans, put down your phone ! Step away from your computers ! Caneta maravilhosa. Essa linha da Parker possui um excelente custo benefício. O revestimento da caneta é preto fosco, e por isso é menos resistente que a que possui o revestimento em preto brilhante. Mesmo assim, é um produto excelente, com uma linda pena dourada e uma escrita muito confortável.

Looks a classical masterpiece i have no problem with weight of pen or grip (normal 6 feet tall man),.. Only bad part is convertor is old style, you need to buy CON 40 converter for another 600 INR LAMY SAFARI seems overvalued, should be around 2000 INR, both pens feel different but very very smooth can be used whole day for writing compared to pilot metropolitan, though both nibs are MEDIUM but feel slightly different. (not the case with pilot) Parker vector Metallix I would say go ONLY if you have not much of money or just want to start with fountain pens, writing with this is good, pen is very short so not so comfortable (FINE) is comparable to pilot , BUT BUT,..... NONE of the OTHER pens dry, but I had weird experience with Parker Metallix that it gets dry ink if not used for a week, LAMY and Pilot on other hand can be used without headache after a month (Although I know it will be futile to do comparison of pen which is hardly 5 times cheaper with set of expensive ones) but I SAY SKIP Parker Frontier is also FINE, writes good but definitely not on the finer side, better to go for this than Vector Lamy 2000 fountain pen is true gem of fountain pens cannot be compared with the others (and should not be 😂) it's expensive with price of INR 25000, but go only if you love writing,. I do write alot so for me its ok. But first make a habbit of admiring the cheap ones. --------- NOW coming to Inks Parker Quink is truely what justifies the price - depth of color is awesome for INR 100, writes good,. Consistent and dries quickly Best ink you can buy is "Pilot Iroshizuku" and Lamy T53 Crystal collection I have both but could not show sample of Iroshizuku,.. Both costs INR 1500 so not on affordable side,. But fantastic inks Pelikan 4001 is one of the affordable and yet beautiful inks (use with medium nib) to feel the color shading effects.... You can go for it!! Waterman Ink goes with its name, it's watery (Not Bad) but takes time to dry out,.. But rich in color little costly but comparable to Pelikan, makes Pelikan better ink. Lapis Bard Irish Joe is good but expensive, ink dries in between Pelikan and Waterman,.. LOOKS ugly till wet but it's looks jaw dropping BEAUTIFUL once dries, lots of highlights and definitely worth the price. Lamy Ink T52, Ah! Again as Lamy pens it's expensive better to skip this and jump directly towards Pilot Iroshizuku ink Lamy crystal ink i use only with Lamy 2000, ink is good but very expensive than Pilot Iroshizuku, thus making Pilot ink a better choice anyday. Now coming to which Nib Size to choose If you write small really small then go for fine nibs, so Pilot Fine is go to pen if money is not a constraint. Medium Nibs on other sides highlights the shades of inks, much smooth and makes fountain pen a true gem of engineering., I would say if not sure GO with MEDIUM, it's definitely make you into fountain pens. It does not matter how expensive or how cheap pen or ink or watch you use., just you should love it,.. Cultivate a habbit of writing its worth of.
