2Pac - 2Pacalypse Now - desertcart.com Music Review: Great album - This record arrived 5 days before date. Perfect Review: Great album that doesn't get enough credit - Very politically charged album from Pac where is is extremely direct and serious. In his later work, which unfortunately spanned a pretty short length of time, he merges social topics with universal allusions to suffering, joy, ambivalence and then eventually entrenches further into the world of fame and Death Row. This is straight up that black panther influence in his upbringing, and his enormous intellect. It may not have the "sick production" of his later albums or always feel as illustrative or relatable, but it is an astonishingly good breakout record.

1st for 2 pac
For being 2pacs 1st album it’s very good some songs I don’t like as much but a lot have a deep meaning like “Brenda’s got a baby”

Visionary
Pac's album came out when he was 19. Over the next five years, his style would mature, and his abilities as an MC would improve, but this album and Strictly offered up some of his best storytelling raps and most of his great political commentary tracks. For someone to consider this debut "mediocre" or "disappointing," they must not be able to understand the hip hop climate of the late 80s and early 90s, before The Chronic. Public Enemy, Ice Cube, Ice T etc. all made headlines and splashes with albums that covered the same topics as 2pacalypse. They must also overlook the fact that Brenda's Got A Baby, Violent, Soulja's Story, If My Homie Calls, Trapped and Part Time Mutha might be the largest and best collection of hood stories ever told in rap form all on one album. If you're looking for the GFunk beats of Chronic or the production on Illmatic and Ready 2 Die, you won't find them here or in any other album in 1991. With that said, how can anyone claim that these tracks don't have tight beats? This was an incredible album created by a kid at a young age.

A must buy for hardcore 2Pac listeners.
Fantastic song writing here from Tupac Shakur. Brought this years ago, had to buy get it again a 2nd time... As this is a special gift for myself an X-mas Prezzie. Plus this is real cool rap music mate and... I would recommend this 1st class rap music Title to anyone who likes this Artist. This is the $*** good taste music of the genre and old school. Also it has got to be one of my all time rapping favourite bad ass albums to bump in its lyrical style content and musical tunes plus... Because this man was absolutely brilliant + a true talent. I must admit though being a Techno Head from the start I didn't buy this album until after his??? Tragic Death. Thanks. Five stars XXXXX Rated = Number 1 Rap Advert. Number 1 Rap SEO...

2Pacalypse Now, 3.5 Stars
First things first, I gotta give props to Digital Underground for putting Pac on. I figured it was about that time for me to take a trip through Pac's discography. I was supposed to start going through his discography last yr. For some reason I never got around to really listening to it. But now that I got some listens in, I think its a good debut for Pac. In the late 80s/early 90s the Pro Black and Political rap was a big thing. Certain rappers wasn't scared of being politically incorrect and calling out things they didn't agree with. And Pac shows that on 2Pacalypse Now. Take "Trapped" where Pac talks about how we didn't talk about peace in the Black community, getting profiled and harassed by Cops and how it is being in jail. On "I Dont Give A ****", Pac and Pogo attack racism, like getting followed around in a store for no reason. You gotta love these messages in these songs. Pac also touches on Motherhood. "Brenda's Got a Baby" with Dave Hollister is about Brenda, who has a baby at the age of twelve by her own cousin. To make things worst, she threw the baby in the trash. "Brenda's Got a Baby" is one of the most powerful Hip Hop songs I ever heard. And everything Pac said you felt the realness in it. "Part Time Mutha", follows a similar theme. Pac talks about how his Mom would worry about drugs more than him and how he got a girl pregnant. Angelique touched on her Mo, being on drugs and how her Dad was touching her in the wrong places. And when she tried to tell her Mom about it, she didn't believe her and called her a sl**. All in all, 2Pacalyse Now is cool, but it wont blow you away. His flow needed to be more crisp and the production wasn't anything to write home about either. Pac obviously got better with his later work. This album shouldn't be ignored though, if you wanna see who Pac was before the Death Row days, then you should give this album a few spins. Other songs to check out are "Tha' Lunatic", "If My Homie Calls", "Words of Wisdom" and "Soulja's Story". 3.5 Stars

This is the first album 2pac did! The best album! RIP 2pac!
This 2pacalypse album is great! My first time hearing this whole album! When you listen to this album, you have to listen to it real carefully to his words! This was like before "All eyes on me," and before "Until the end of time." I heard three songs from this album like "Trapped," "Brenda's got a baby," and "If my homies call." The rest of his songs on this album was my first time hearing them. This whole album is banging trhough my speakers on my stereo! 2pac makes great music! I will always love 2pac and his music as well! He is the best rapper of all times! And he is a Hip-Hop legend! Don't forget that! He is gone but never forgoten! Once again rest in peace 2pac! And thanks Amazon! Dee Smalls Representing:Decatur,GA
