Is the dial of this watch really that dull in real life? Because in other pictures I saw it was much brighter (like the one on the Fossil website).

"Dull" seems like such a negative word. I would prefer to describe the face as "muted" or "satin-finish". One of the reasons I got this watch was because the face wasn't overly busy and overly flashy (i.e., shiny). FYI, the picture used here on Amazon is far closer to the actual product than the picture Fossil uses on their website. Apparently someone at Fossil decided to turn the saturation level up a bit for their picture. BTW, I am currently wearing this watch, so I can easily look down for comparison.
