RIDGID 31020 Model 14 Heavy-Duty Straight Pipe Wrench, 14-inch Plumbing Wrench, Red, Small

So I had a 14" and a 10" pipe wrench pair, made in china, bought some years ago from I don't even remember who. I recently dropped the 14" wrench from about chest height onto concrete and it snapped the moveable jaw right in half. I consider that a lucky break actually, the jaw could have snapped when I had all my weight behind it and then I might have broken my stupid moveable jaw instead, Fact is, I don't use pipe wrenches very often or I'd have replaced those wrenches long ago. As a general rule I don't buy cheap crap tools and I was kinda embarrassed to own such junk. So I tossed both wrenches in the trash and bought a pair of these wrenches to replace them. You can't really find a better pipe wrench than these wrenches from Rigid. They're made in the USA and they're no more expensive than any other quality pipe wrench. Pretty much a no brainer, BUY this wrench if you need one, you won't be disappointed and you won't have to be worrying about your stupid jaw either.

What can I say. Great quality.

Great tool, but heavy. Good quality and paint finish. Made in USA. 14" Pipe Wrench opens to 2-3/4" without over extending. Used it on 1-1/2" threaded iron plumbing pipe seized / rusted connections in the house and on broken seized sink valves. Make sure to wipe it down and keep it oiled / WD-40 after messing with water pipes. Lifetime handle warranty by Ridgid and it works with a cheater pipe. If you're worried about water and rust or need something lighter to handle get the aluminum model, but then don't use a cheater.

Decided to upgrade my pipe wrenches, used cheap wrenches for twenty years and was never impressed with the overall ease of adjustment or the performance. I don’t use a pipe wrench daily but as become older I have no tolerance for tools that do not perform as intended, The extra cost of a well made tool pays for itself in not only reducing my overall irritation I also get much better results on the finished project. The Ridgid pipe wrenches are worth the extra money paid, very nice adjustment with a good bite that does not slip, very impressive tool and a good overall investment.

An excellent tool. Yes costs more than tools of this type that are not made as well, but it does the job. As others have said, I was able to loosen up plumbing where other wrenches have failed. Wish I had bought this wrench a long time ago. Extremely well made. Solid and heavy in your hand. Does the job. Has a professional look and feel.

This wrench is nearly perfect. I got this because a wise man gave me a list- based on many years of experience- on some tools a young man should get, and this was one of them. Only Con, Some fit issues just under the bottom jaw, but it still functions flawlessly like it should, it is not a performance 1911 and will work for your pipe wrenching needs for decades to come. I also like the orange finish.

Ridgid has always made the best pipe wrench. The teeth on the jaws are sharp and durable, allowing the wrench to bite onto the pipe or fitting without slipping. I've used Ridgid pipe wrenches in the oil fields for years and have never been disappointed with the quality and durability. And they are still made in the USA!
