I am a distance runner and have been working on my long run hydration/fueling during the run, thus the need for sodium intake during long runs. I like to carry water in my hydration pack (rather than electrolytes which I do just before & after runs) but during the run, these portable salt tablets come in clutch! They can help ease cramping during the run, have no taste, and all you have to do is swallow. So easy, and they've been working out well for the last several months of long runs in the NC humidity. I run about 30-40mi/week and there are 100 in a pack which is a great value. One word of advice: I would recommend carrying them in a small container or ziplock rather than packing them loosely in the pocket of your shorts/leggings/pack. I learned the hard way after my last half marathon that the capsules can come apart if they aren't being transported appropriately and also they were in a pocket that I had some energy chews in so the fell out every time I reached in the pocket (oops - my fault) but luckily there were aid stations on the course for electrolytes!

If you have ever had a 'charlie horse' or otherwise know as a muscle cramp these are wonderful. Fast acting. But even better they are good as a preventative measure. They sure have helped me with 'hot summer' wild blueberry picking. * They also have a chewable version - love the peach flavor - so convenient !

Am no runner, but have POTS with syncope. Looked for these at local drug stores without luck; pharmacist was sorry to inform I'd need too drink water anyhow, suggesting I might s well buy the packets they did have. I do drink water and prefer capsules over flavored packets. They work well and help meet vitamin D requirements too.
