After 50 years in the business it amazes me how the so-called experts knock FRAM oil filters. They complain of cardboard and caps and unevenly spaced filter media. First of all the end caps are fiber disc. Personally I don't care what the oil filter looks like when cut open I am more concerned about how it stays together when sealed and those fiber disc and caps help to make for a more perfect seal. Do you honestly think that cardboard would hold up at all in an oil filter? Yet there are tons of videos on YouTube and other sites taken by these so-called experts telling you how cheaply Fram oil filters are made. These folks quite frankly I have no idea of what they're talking about. It's kind of like a Bose thing... They complain of low-quality and lack of high-end sound yet Bose continues to outsell all the others. So it can be said of Fram. And please Fram owners of the more expensive Ultra and higher end models stop making apologies for the extra guard line. I too was one of these at about 10 years ago when I actually fell for one of these videos momentarily in my career but sanity won out in the end. The Fram PH 49-67 extra guard oil filter is an improved version over older models in the sense that It Now Sports that red silicone antique drain back valve that's so many folks seem to embrace out of fear of cracking of the older type black nitrile rubber types. Big deal!!! Regardless this product arrived well packaged and in a timely manner from Amazon. Ione a 96 Toyota Camry 2.2 liter engine with well over 200k on it. Using about three and a half quarts Castrol GTX hm 5w 30 motor oil the oil change when quite smoothly especially when you consider the wonderful Fram Sure Grip feature on top of the canister. This makes for easy installation and removal as long as you only hand tighten. At just under $4 PUR Filter this Fram extra guard is a superb choice for anyone sticking to the recommended interval of 10000 MI or 10 months. At 70 years old I fall into the latter category as I do not do much driving annually. It's pretty much stop and go City for me. So at this point I can surely tell you the engine is purring like a kitten and I foresee no problem for the remainder of the recommended interval. This Fram is a proven Workhorse and anyone who tells you different is either lying or simply ignorant. Go for it it'll keep your engine running smoothly for a long long time... Take it to the bank!!! Excelentes filtros hasta ahora es el unico que utilizo para mi toyota Prius c y me duran mas de 10 mil kilometros pero el aceite lo cambio cada 5000 con aceite sintetico entonces como ya llevo años usando este filtro pues lo puedo recomendar

It's the same as I use all the time, I change oil every six months no matter what the mileage is, usually less tan 5k km.
