I love this Ooni dual platform digital scale. I’ve owned and used a lot of different digital scales, and this Ooni scale outdoes them all -- for accuracy, functionality, and quality construction. For baking, you should be measuring your ingredients by mass (I.e. weight) rather than by volume. There is way too much possible variation when measuring by volume. For one example, the density of flour will vary greatly depending on how it’s been packed, stored, sifted or not sifted, and seasonally: a cup of flour in winter probably won’t weigh the same as that same cup of flour in summer. Digital scales are what you need. But no single digital scale has both the capacity and the resolution to give you good measurements for all of the very wide range of masses of the different ingredients in a baking recipe. Have you ever tried weighing both 500 grams of flour, and 4 grams of yeast using only one scale? It’s impossible to achieve the accuracy you want and need in such widely different masses when both are measured on only one scale. If that single scale has the capacity to accurately weigh 500 grams of flour, it will not also be able to resolve the tiny differences between a few grams of yeast. On the Ooni dual platform scale, the large platform scale has a maximum capacity of 10,000 grams (22.04 pounds, or 352.7 ounces), with resolution of 1 gram (0.035 ounces). The small platform scale has a maximum capacity of 200 grams (7.05 ounces) with resolution of 0.1 grams (0.0035 ounces). If you want to make consistently reliable pizza dough (or cakes, or beads, etc.), you need this dual platform scale.

This was exactly what my husband wanted for his pizza making. It goes down to the gram level for small measures and up to lbs for heavier measures.

Ahhh, it finally exists, something useful and effective, practical and well thought out, thanks to the engineers who developed it, I love it!

Nice product, good design, but the accuracy (which is something essential in a scale) lacks precision, specially when using the small scale... I use it for weighing metric and very often it does not register the weight until it reaches 0.7gr. or 0.9gr. and for some precision recipes, this can be a hassle. The same goes for the lager scale, sometimes when you put some weight in the 1gr.- 9gr. range, it does not record any weight, the scale remains showing 0gr. but when you remove whatever you put in it, it suddendly shows a negative value (the actual weight of whatever you put on it, but in negative, as if you had pressed "tare" after placing whatever you placed on it and had removed it afterwards). In general terms, it is agood product and it solves the issue of having to use two separate scales. I only wish it was more accurate.

I give it 4.9 stars. The larger platform works great but the smaller scale needs a little help to accurately measure items. 1. Place the small container on the scale and tare (zero) it out 2. Add some yeast (or whatever you are measuring) to the container 3. lift the container off the scale then set it back down to show the weight of the material you added (remember this number). 4. Press down lightly on the container to make the scale numbers move, then release and compare that number against the amount from step 3. If the two numbers match then that should be the correct weight. While this scale appears to be accurate for small changes, it doesn't always update correctly by itself when adding tiny amounts and a little prompting is necessary to see the updated weight.

Great, for a year. Then the power button stopped functioning. It now only works when I remove the batteries and reinstall them. That's not very convenient. *Update: They have great customer service. I answered a few questions and shared a video of the issue at their request. In less than 1 week I had a replacement in my mailbox. My only regret is not taking action earlier but I never expected this level of support. I'm upgrading this 4 stars. If the issue had never occurred they would have a 5 star review.

A must have when using your mixer, the dual scales are very handy
