Easy to install and looks great! The black color is very elegant and should match any modern black hardware. Seems to be high quality so far and the app is easy to use. I didn't see a way to set up user codes that apply across all locks, so I had to set them up individually instead. It's not the end of the world, obviously, but would be nice to be able to set the user and code in the app and then check which locks that user and code applies to. Locks work as intended though and it's nice to have multiple ways to unlock the door (including the good, ole fashion key). Re-keying the locks to a standard key was incredibly easy and one of the best features of the Kwikset line in my opinion.

Writing a review since there seemed to be mixed ones here. I installed it in place of an existing kwikset standard deadbolt. No issues on the installation. All of the holes lined up. The installation went quick and the instructions are straightforward. I didnt have any issues connecting the app and setting up codes. Remote locking and unlocking works great. No issues rekeying the lock. I did not link it to alexa or do any geofencing. I keep it locked and don't see a benefit from this. The autolock feature is nice to have. My only small complaint is it seems louder than other times I used a smart lock. I don't have one for a side by side so it might just be me. No need for a tone announcing the unlock and you can clearly hear it. I can't speak for the battery life. If I have to change them once or twice a year that is not a big deal. Happy overall so far.

This is now my third lock (same model) to completely fail in < 3 years, requiring replacement. I could put up with the HORRIBLE battery life- though it makes no sense, a lock which is used via keypad 3-4x a week, at most, needs 4 new batteries 4-5 times a year. The only people who use this keypad are service people like the pool man, gardener, etc. Perhaps some people can put up with how insanely loud the lock's motor is, which you can hear in rooms on the other side of the house, 100 feet away. What I can’t put up with is that it disconnects from the home's internet and Bluetooth (it uses both) on a regular basis, like several times a month. All of a sudden, it’s not working; one goes on their app and realizes it’s been offline for days. Or the service people call that the lock isn’t working - they can’t get in. I go to the app, and the lock is no longer connected. I have other brands that require battery changes every few years, and NEVER disconnect from the same wi-fi system. Kwikset's ONLY solution is to disconnect the lock from the system and start from scratch with a new installation. SUCH A PIECE OF CRAP for a high-priced name-brand product. And BTW, their service (via phone) totally sucks too. I have had similar problems with these Kwikset locks on other properties and have replaced them with other brands, which all seem to work problem-free, never disconnecting from the house's Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. JUNK. Stay away!

I don't understand how people are having issues with these. I'm a licensed electrician that performs work on electronics like these constantly. Instructions are very clear and simple to follow. Anybody would be able to install this, yes, even if you have absolutely no experience with door locks. Make sure that once you are done, or before you even start, you download the app and follow the on-screen instructions. I've always bought Kwikset door locks for the simple fact that not only they have a wide variety of products, they're the only ones I've found that you're able to change the barrel to YOUR existing key, as long as it's the same size key. Therefore no locksmith needed, nor having different keys for every single door of your house. The process to re-key the lock literally takes less than a minute. The Kwikset app has options for different pass codes for everyone in the family, has options to automatically lock the door after determined time. You can also add to Google assistant, or Alexa device to lock and unlock code (voice has either have to be saved for certain person, or you'll need to set up a code to unlock the door with voice assistant, I chose neither and don't care for the option of unlocking the door with voice assistant, just locking is good enough for me). Really great design, easy to install, extremely easy to use, and numerous options to work it, my favorite is that I can unlock it from anywhere in the world as long as I have internet available, which is huge since I have people that come and go to the house, best part is you can set temporary codes for each person as well, and you will have a log of who unlocked the door, so if something happens you know who the last person was to unlock that door. I would give it 6 stars if I could, the only downfall for me (which is really not a problem) is that it doesn't have fingerprints built-in, would have been nice to have that option, but not a big deal at all since the lock works phenomenally well. While this is a great idea for us, the product falls short. We have previously used Kwikset smart locks to easily key all of our locks the same. WiFi seems to be a good idea for us, because many of our doors are remote. The idea of being able to limit access for contractors to certain days and times is great. The lock is also easy to install, and connected quickly with our dual-band house WiFi without needing to disable the 5 kHz band. We were using this in place of a Kwikset Smart Lock, non WiFi. The new lock does not manually latch as smoothly as the old lock, but it is ok for us. But, when activated through the app, the new lock makes a loud grinding/buzzing sound that can be heard in other rooms and outside. This might be ok for others, but not so much for us. The jury is out on battery life, which we understand may only be a few months (not good). Changing 4 AA batteries is a matter of unscrewing tiny screws, which we don't like. If battery life is so short, Kwikset should come up with a way to release the batteries that would be as secure without unscrewing screws.

I preferred the look of the fingerprint reader, it just did not work. This lock does everything that I wanted and the app is also very good. Easy to setup schedules for housekeeper, and grant full access to whomever I like. The ability to add and remove users, and re-key anytime I wish is also great. All of my door hardware is kwikset, 4 doors, all keyed the same! It takes about 1 minute to change whenever you choose to do so. Instead of paying a locksmith or replacing the locks, you do it yourself for free- can't beat that price.

🪫 Battery life: I bought this lock August 2024 and since then, I’ve had to replace batteries every month. As you all know, batteries are not inexpensive. It got to a point where I was honestly leaving my door unlocked because I didn’t want to continue replacing the batteries. I should have just used the manual key, but I was frustrated. 📱App: Works inconsistently. I’d say it functions properly about 70% of the time. Sometimes it loses connection and I’ll be unable to control the lock from my phone. Not sure why that happens when all other apps on my phone work just fine and I have no connectivity issues. 🔒 Overall: I like it enough to try the replacement but make sure you keep batteries on hand. I WOULD NOT recommend this for short term rentals such as Airbnb. This has been my experience for the 11 months I’ve had this lock. 📞 Assuming there is at least a one year warranty on the product, I called customer support and asked them to send a replacement. The associate was very helpful and confirmed the warranty. They are sending a new lock, but now I’ll have to pay someone to install. I’m having a keyless entry lock with deadbolt put on my basement door and I am not buying this one. Hope this helps 😌

Excelente, la recomiendo ampliamente, me fue muy facil instalarla y configurarla que luego resulta muy complicado, en este caso me fue muy sencillo y la cerradura trabaja perfectamente, obviamente como todo este tipo de cerraduras consume las baterías con cierta velocidad pero no mas que otras cerraduras electrónicas que he usado mucho mejor que 2 cerraduras Yale que he tenido y ambas dieron problemas en poco tiempo y se consumian las baterías a una velocidad increible Gran Cerradura!!!

Bought this lock for a new front door. After the install tried to install the app only to find the Kwikset Halo app is not support in Australia. Total disbelief and frustration.
