Ease of installing and rebuilding the lamp, the lamp is very old and has been around for over 50 years.

This was complicated for me to figure out, but that may because I'm not particularly handy. However I did get it to work. I did decide that the lampshade did you hang a little bit lower than I had hoped but not much. Maybe some more careful measurements or some other way of installing it might've helped me. But that's not a complaint about the product.

The included instructions are disconnected and high level, leaving out too many steps and making assumptions in knowledge that a beginner will struggle with. The included diagram only specifies which part is what and in combination with the sparse instructions, does not tell you how to wire. I had to use chatGPT to find a video to walk me through. Confounding matters, the stamped wire is the hot wire, which, if you have poor eyesight like mine, you might mistake as the ‘ribbed wire.’ Second, the brass and silver screws are very hard to differentiate. The difference in color is incredibly subtle. The kit was easy to use and I’m still hoping I wired my lamp right. But I give this 4 stars because no instructions were included, the wires can be easily confused with each other, and the screws are not easily distinguishable one from the other. If I were an expert, I’d have given this 5 stars all the way. Everything you need to rewire is included in this kit and the parts are manageable.

Worked great for the Live Oak lamp I turned from a piece of firewood. The 12" long 1/8" IP threaded lamp pipes were slightly bowed, presumably during shipping, which the only thing that really created problems in install. Since it was a fairly tight fit in the 3/8" hole I bored all the way through the lamp, I ended up loading it into my cordless drill chuck and let the drill thread it through for me. Worked like a charm! The bolt on the top of the harp was a little off-kilter, but I managed to get it bent enough for the shade to sit straight. 3-way socket works perfectly. And I have the extra 12" threaded pipe to make a second with.

Used to make a lamp. Easy to work with. Had it done in no time.
