Is this a good stethoscope for a nursing student?

Hi, is it 22" or 27" long? Thank you.

The tubing and diaphragm is 22" long. The entire stethoscope with the tips is 29". It's a good stethoscope for the price. I got the purple and nobody has every "accidentally" taken it. It also came with a name tag you can place on the tubing.

Can this be used for pets

Yes this can be used on Vets and is used in our Vet Practise as one of several we have for basic use.  or the most part a stethoscope is a stethoscope whether its used on a human, guinea pig or elephant.  A stethoscope is basically just a defence that conducts sound through tubes from inside aabn object to the listener by means of air sealed in tubes.  The diagnostic ability is with the user in most case.  HOWEVER after saying that one does have to ask if your using it for any special medical purpose other than to listen to breath sounds, basic heart sounds, inter abdominal functioning, blood pressure.  Just as there are some special things you would want a stethoscope to have if are a cardiologist and need a stethoscope to give you better sounds and picking up high and low frequencies, or if working with pregnant women and need one that is more sensitive for inter- abdominal listening there are some specialty needs that vet processes have of some that are made a bit differently.  In those cases you would want to search for the specific type and include 'vet ' in your search.
