It's a weird one
Easiest way I can describe these heaters is it's like sunburn without the burn. If you've ever been burnt in the sun you will know that you don't feel the burn at the time, it's only several hours later the heat starts to become uncomfortable. You have to know that it isn't the infrared heat from the sun that burns you, it's the unhealthy UVA rays that causes it. That's how these heaters work, they heat the person not the room, it's like you're sat in the shade on a lovely, warm, sunny day. In years gone by I've used oil filled radiators to supplement my heating, those heaters will heat a room up so it's it's nice and toasty, but, as soon as I leave the room I'm in I feel the cold around me. It also doesn't take long for the room temperature to drop once the heaters are turned off. That's not happening now I'm using the IR panels, when I leave the room I'm in I'm not noticing the drop in temperature of other rooms, because I'm warm and toasty, plus there's no significant drop in temperature in the room when I turn the panels off. I have noticed that the rooms with panels stay warmer overnight, unlike heaters that warm the air, plus there's much less condensation on the windows meaning I'm using the dehumidifier less, which adds to the savings in making. I've seen reviews from people who say they've put their panels under their desk when working from home, I ask you, would you want to hide the Sun under a desk to warm your legs and knees, or would it be better to rearrange your furniture so you can put the Sun on a wall in front of you ? That way you and your environment can enjoy the pleasant warmth these panels have to offer. Obviously, we're not in the depths of winter yet and I'm not sure these panels will replace the GCH completely, but I'm sure they will make an economical supplement, more economical than the old oil filled radiators at least.

Warning, This is Not for a Ceiling - Unlike it's deceptive description!
Model GT-A0606P is what I have received in my box, which clearly states in the manual that only Models with 'C' can be ceiling-mounted. Other than that it seems OK, gets surprisingly very hot for just 350W, but you can't put it near anything that may catch fire or in reach of children. Apart from a trailing cable, I think the Ceiling option is the way to go (which this is not), it probably costs more too, or should I be getting a reduction as I did pay for a ceiling version?

Wish I knew of these earlier
Did a bit of brand research and thought carefully about whether I wanted a remote and built in thermostat or not. Decided to go for a 350w classic in hallway and 580w classic in dining room with plan on linking with smart plugs / room thermometers later (when the ones I want are back in stock -hence simple plug in timers for now). Both heater in situ working perfectly and waiting for electrician in new year to hide cables. Really happy with these heaters as both rooms (formerly coldest in house even with radiators on) are now lovely and warm -so good I have set rads to frost setting in both rooms now. Some people find them colder than expected as I was worried about this I took my time planning exactly where to site them to get best coverage and measuring carefully the space I needed to heat

EFFECTIVE AND EFFICIENT
This fire looks just like a flat, white gloss painted panel. It is light in weight and easily moved around - even hung on a wall or the ceiling. It provides good warmth by heating items around it thro' infra-red radiation. This makes it economical to run and eco-friendly. We have been impressed by this fire and would recommend it to others.

It's warm inside ...
Bought this item for evaluation purposes. Installed panel in a small cabin on narrowboat for use when on shore power. (Avoids having to fire up diesel fuelled central heating boiler and wait for radiator to warm up.) Panel has performed, thus far, perfectly. Provides a feeling of warmth as a personage is bathed in the FAR IR rays emitted by the panel. Be advised this type of heater does NOT heat the air in a space; it uses an entirely different technology. Surface of the panel does get warm to the touch but not hot enough to burn. Warming effect is felt the instant the device is switched on. Would I buy another? Yes, without a doubt. Do I have any criticisms? Yes; once you have fitted the mounting screws it can be a right bugger to engage them into the fixing slots to the rear of the panel. Suggest a bit of precision measuring of distances of fixing slots to edges of panel transferred to wall, measured from fixing screws will help locate the panel. Not sure if having an assistant would help as it would merely result, eventually, in profanity as each blamed the other for missing the fixing slots. That said the larger panels probably do require having an assistant ... strongly suggest you do not involve your nearest and dearest as might end up with temporary suspension of your "rights" ...

Not great
It's not great. Barely heats up a very small room. Yes it would be energy efficient if it kicked out any heat at all but you need to leave it on for several hours which really is costing me more to run than a 1kw oil radiator which I could have on for an hour and it would heat up the room quickly. Tried to return but seller didn't bother replying so stuck with this expensive, useless 'heater'. Would not recommend.
