Postcards from Sweden Quilt KIT

This was quite a deal! The fabric came neatly organized with wonderful directions. I am working on the Quilt now for my cousin, but might need to make one for myself! The quality of this purchase was amazing! The fabric is of very quality. I highly recommend this purchase!

This is a really beautiful and well organized kit. All of the fabrics are nice quality Kona cotton. There are more than 3 dozen colors of fabric in this quilt. Imagine the difficulty in sourcing all of these colors on your own. It was well worth buying the kit which to save myself all the time and effort ordering the fabrics online (my local shop only carries about a dozen colors of Kona). My time is very precious so I thought this kit was a bargain! The kit also includes labels to keep the colors organized as well as a numbered chart to make construction easy. Cannot wait to get started on this!

i made this one and really enjoyed working through the rows. I had enough fabric to add another row to the top and bottom. Instructions were easy and the "kit" made it much easier than buying each fabric independently. I bought a second one that I haven't created (yet). I would recommend this.

It isn't done yet but it is in progress. It is a great way to make a quality quilt while not having to come up with the idea or source fabrics. The colors are so vibrant and are accurate to the picture in the listing. Given how much work it takes to make a quilt I find that the kit is a good value.

There are three elements to be reviewed with this kit: the pattern, the fabric quality, and the cuts of fabric. The pattern is well written and easy to follow, although this is a complex design. I would not call this a beginner level pattern. Maybe lower intermediate. It requires a lot of precision, exact seam allowances, and strong organizational skills. Pattern gets 5/5 stars. The fabric itself is high quality and the colors are amazing. It’s a well known, reliable brand of quilter’s cotton. I have worked with other fabrics that are softer and have a finer weave, but this particular brand is well known for their vast range of colors, and the pattern is specifically written to use this brand. Fabric gets 4.5/5 stars. The real reason to buy this kit instead of sourcing the pattern and fabric yourself is so that you get all the right amounts of the exact colors you need. This is where I have a slight complaint and a word of caution for anyone contemplating a purchase. The pattern is written for two different sizes of finished top. If you are making the smaller one you won’t have any issues. I opted for the larger size, which requires cutting 6” squares, and sometimes you need to cut nine squares from a single fat quarter. These fat quarters have absolutely no margin for error. The side that is half the width of the bolt is not problematic, since that is roughly 21”-22”. But the side that is cut to 18” is not always cut evenly enough that it doesn’t require truing up, and you’ve got to be very careful because they leave maybe a millimeter of wiggle room at best. This has mostly been an irritation and not an actual problem, but you should know that you’ll need to be extremely precise with your cutting and there is no room for mistakes on some of the colors. I freely admit that I don’t have much experience with precut kits, so my complaint may be naive, but it just feels ungenerous and I’m grumpy about it. The cutting of the fabric pieces gets 3/5 stars.

I am very pleased with this kit. The labels were perfect and definitely needed. And I received enough fabric to enlarge the pattern to a queen size bed and make pillow shams. AND have some triangles and scraps left over for other projects. The Kona fabric was vibrant. It was so worth it buying a kit in order to have all of the colors. My Joan’s had only a couple needed for the project. This kit comes highly recommended. Thank you!

Stunning and covered the queen size bed top. Love it so much, I am thinking of buying another one.
