I loved this book and how John Paul Jackson teaches. This book gives a good understanding of the topic and has a lot of examples and practice sections with instructions of how to go about it.

This book is a solid block of information about Lectio Divina. You will learn the history of this way of praying the scriptures and how it has been passed down and discussed over many centuries. You will learn what the various movements are along the path of Lectio Divina and how you can get the best out of them. At the end of the book are a chapter of scripture verses you can use to practice with. Eventually you will want to read the whole bible using Lectio Divina, and probably other books like devotionals will come alive. I have read a number of books on this subject and this one is a definite worthwhile read

A fresh look at Lectio Divine by John Paul Jackson. The purpose of this discipline is to develop a deep hunger to know God more intimately. This involves first, meditating on the scriptures bought to your attention by the Holy Spirit, then spending time listening for God's Word of the moment for you. This needs to be followed by your response to Him and guidance for moving forward into all that He has prepared for you to do. This is a challenging discipline to take up. It will change your life for ever. The second part of the book gives examples of how to read a scripture passage - slowly - and then how to use that passage in your prayers in order to grow in faith and to help others. I wholeheartedly commend it to you.

This was one of the most beautiful books I have read. It explains prayer so it is easy to understand and easy go practice. I would recommend this for anyone struggling to pray or to even understand the bible.
