Do Not Buy
Do not buy. Trying to return as this chair does not work. Ball is too small for base and too tall for arm rests! As of right now, I haven't been able to actually use the chair. I have had the Gaiam Ball Chair for over 10 years and love it - except I needed something with arm support. After 2 hours of fighting putting it together - holes do not line up correctly, screws did not always thread correctly - I faced blowing up the ball with the tiny pump. A few pumps in I thought it would be easier to use my Gaiam ball that looked the same and was already inflated. It fit in the base fine, but was too tall rendering the arm rests unusable. So I went back to pumping and once I finally got it inflated it is too small for the base. Unlike some other customers, I only received one ball. The ball issue plus some large chips in the paint tempted me to send this back yesterday, but couldn't face disassembling it all again. Contacted the seller for clarification and assistance who indicated the ball needed to be inflated more and sent instructions. After inflated more, as much as I could, ball is still too small for base - but too tall to use the arm rests. Ball is so full it is uncomfortable to sit in. Buy a Gaiam - don't waste your money here.

Great chair
I bought this chair because I have problems with my back and Hips. This chair so far, seems to be helping me to stabilize my core muscles and ease the pain. I am very pleased with the quality and comfort. I would say that this will not accommodate a very large person. The arms are part of what holds the ball in place and I don't think they can be removed with out affecting the stability of the ball. I love it and would buy it again. I sit in front of a computer 10 hours a day at work. I am thinking of getting one for my house. Service was great as usual.

... space and though the back support and arms are useless when sitting
I bought this for a small space and though the back support and arms are useless when sitting, they do make it easy to grap and move the chair around. What I like is that it relieves the pressure off my legs so i can actually sit for a while without the leg pain a normal chair causes me. What I dislike is it gets hot if you sit too long--the ball is rubber, not airy foam. But that just encourages me to get up and move around. So I am keeping it for now untill i can afford a 700 or 900 dollar chair (in my dreams!). overall, it was a good buy and I use it daily. I am a tall 5 foot 8 inches and slim hipped, so the chair fits fine with lots of space between the arms. Height is simalr to my old chair, so my legs rest comfortably on the floor at the right angle. Was easy to put together and so far no problems after several months of daily use.

unable to completely put together upon arrival
Loved the chair, but it was not possible to attach arms to rest of unit, due to defective attachment location issues. Kept ball and chair because the chair itself is great, but now have two dangerous areas that stick out where arms should go, but can not be attached because of poor manufacturing. Should have bought option that did not have arms. Just didn't feel like going through the hassle of sending chair parts back for return.

Nice chair, but the construction needs some attention
I bought two of these chairs for our business. The chair is very basic, but we didn't buy it for elegance, we bought it to help promote better posture. Like other posters, the chair is a bit difficult to put together, but can be done with a little elbow greece. My problem is with the strength of the tack welds that are pretty much the heart of this entire chair. Within a month the back support tack welds (located under the ball) broke. That rendered the back support useless and if I was not careful the chair would throw me backwards. While trying to deal with both the seller (Unbeatable sale) and the vendor (Aeromats) one of the armrests broke which turned this into a balancing chair. Again the part that broke were the tack welds under the ball. It became a hazard. The chair comes with a 30 day warranty which is hardly enough time to really see the durability of an item. Both the seller and the vendor would not accommodate me in sending me a new part. They were more then happy to sell me a part though. The "heart" of this chair is held together by tack welds and poor ones at that. They do not hold up to an office setting. I do not lean on these parts and I am not a huge man. There are no weight restrictions on the chair so as far as I can tell, I am in range. I fixed the problem by having a neighboring business weld the parts back on. They ran true beads of weld and now my chair will not break again. It already feels like new or better. In conclusion. Great chair to help keep you sitting up right. You do sit higher than a normal high back office chair. I don't slouch anymore. The bad, is the seller (Unbeatable sale) and vendor (Aeromats) have horrible warranties. If you know a welder, buy the chair and have them fix the poor work. Than it will be a 5 star ball chair.

This chair suits my needs better than the pricey office chair I was using
This chair suits my needs better than the pricey office chair I was using. I needed a new sewing room chair. I bought this after I saw a stool version in my dentist's office. What a nifty idea! I phoned up the ladies who use the ball stools, & went in for a test sit, & to measure the height. The only problem they told me of was that they sometimes slipped to the side when scooting back & forth across the area. Well, the arms solve that, but my sewing table needs don't often require scooting across the room. The arms do not interfere with my sewing table at all, and, while I'm not certain this chair is helping my abs & balance, it's easy on my knees, & rolls easily. It also does not lose air quickly. So far, it's been 6 weeks since the initial pump up, and I haven't had to top it off. The structure is easy to assemble & is sturdy enough for my needs. I'm 62, 5'8", & weigh 150 lb. Do your own math.
