This spouted sippy cup works well for bedbound adults
I call this an adult sippy cup. It worked well for both of my elderly parents when they became bedbound. It is not spill-proof, so you can't leave it with them in bed, but as long as you're supervising it does the job. You must use soapy water to clean the inside daily and I use a cotton Q-tip dipped in vinegar to clean the inside of the spout.

but this is not nearly as bad as the entire glass of liquid spilling
My husband who has Parkinson Disease was spilling drinks often. These cups work well. If they do get knocked over a little liquid does spill out, but this is not nearly as bad as the entire glass of liquid spilling. Yes, they are boring in looks, but the plain white manages to be not bad with other dishes. they are reasonably priced with no shipping charge, so we could order just one to see how they worked before buying more.

Godsend
My mom’s in hospice and aspirates as well as drops her cups. This cup has been a lifesaver for spills. It will spill when turned a certain way but it’s mostly a dribble and gives you time to pick it up. But for the most part if it does drop it doesn’t leak.

Minimal flow control with water or thin liquids, leakproof lid, excellent straw holder
Bought this to help my convalescing patient (who was too weak to use straws) drink fluids. The flow control is minimal with thin liquids, and the mouthpiece is awkward. The mouthpiece seems to be designed to hold a straw rather than fit in the mouth. And if you use this cup with a straw, flow control is unnecessary. I could not use this product to give water and thin liquids to my bedridden patient. It may work well with thicker liquids, however. But the lid is watertight and I find I am using it frequently as a straw holder cup now that my patient is stronger.

No flow control
As an OT I bought this for a patient that needed flow control with thin liquids due to swallowing difficulties. The cup states that if you use the hole on the top prior to placing it in the mouth, you will be able to stop the liquid from dispensing and then remove finger form the hole to again dispense. It did not control or slow it down at all. It just pours out whether you have your finger on the hole or not. Also to be noted that the spout hole is quite large for any sort of flow control. It would not be safe at all for someone who needs flow control.

It works!
It slowed down the fluid just enough to prevent sputtering and coughing. So far NO aspiration!! Need more but a little spendy for a fixed income.
