Hi, is it a matt black?

The bottom is matte, but the handle is shiny. They are divided as you see - by thin silver band.

Does this spoon retain food smells? I own the aqua KitchenAid silicon basting spoon and neither dishwasher nor soaks in vinegar/water remove smells.

I haven't noticed ANY lingering food smells. The scoop part is plastic & the handle is shiny plastic. No soft silicone on this. It's a sturdy spoon and I'm thinking of ordering a second one.

It's not a quantity it's the handle style. There used to be another black handle style that I believe was discontinued. Anyone looking to have a matching set of utensils with match the color and handle style. Hope that helps.
