How long can you leave it on?

I used the tray for my parties; each event lasted any where from four to six hours.

Has anyone tested for the temperature range, from lowest to highest? Especially interested in lowest temperature?

I didn’t have some to check the temperature, the lowest temperature will kept the plate warming.

Does this appliance turn off, or do you have to unplug it to turn it off?

This appliance does manually turn "on" and "off" when you turn the knob located on the side of the unit to adjust your desired temperature settings. In order to turn the device "on", you will need to turn the the knob clockwise until you hear a click and the red light next to the knob turns on (indicating that the warming plate is now operational). Likewise, in order to turn the device "off", you will need to turn the the knob counter-clockwise until you hear a click and the red light next to the knob turns off (indicating that the warming plate is now shutting down).
