World of Reading: X-Men Days of Future Past: Level 3 [Macri, Thomas, Disney Book Group] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. World of Reading: X-Men Days of Future Past: Level 3 Review: An interesting and complex book for kids. - I picked up all of the Level 3 Marvel readers (Spidey's New Costume, Days of Future Past, and The Kree-Skrull War) to read with my 5 year old son. I'll try to review all of them for you. My biggest question for Days of Future Past was how the book would handle a super dark storyline (I had read the comics growing up). In the comics, nearly all of the X-Men were killed, and I was curious how this would be presented. To the author's credit, he deftly avoids a lot of the grim stuff. Heroes aren't murdered in a genocidal war, they are just quaintly "defeated." So, if you are like me and was concerned about this book, don't worry on that account. What we get is a complex story that mirrors the original with less violence. Each chapter switches perspective between the present and the future, so my son had a lot of questions and we talked a lot of some of the cool things about the future. Because the source material is so strong, this book naturally lends itself to discussion with your kids about various issues. So - bonus - a superhero book that makes kids question and think! In terms of complexity for readers, I'd rate the "Spidey's New Costume" as the least difficult, "The Kree-Skrull War" in the middle, and "Days of Future Past" as the toughest. I'm happy I purchased this and my son loved it, so I recommend it to you. I hope this review helps you. Review: Shipper was accurate! - The shipper stated the book didn't even look like it had been opened and this was 100% accurate. Received order promptly and grandkids have enjoyed the book.

Bought a whole load of these books for my son who loves reading but gets bored with the books his school provide. He really enjoys reading about his favourite superheroes in stories aimed at his age group. Highly recommended.

Bought this book (plus other similar ones) to add to our superhero topic box at school and the children loved them, especially the boys!

Bought for my six yr old son, perfect for him to read on his own, colourful and good value for money.

It was ok. Average for these books. It's not a great story to read to your kid but they are designed for kids to read themselves. A fair insight into X-Men but a 7 year old would struggle to get the story, it's also a clunky read.

These are perfect for any little boy as he learns to read
