From "Just Okay" to "Absolute Magic". My experience with 3 different surfaces
I decided to test this cleanser on three different items in my house: 1. The Kitchen Sink (Stainless Steel): Nothing extraordinary here. It cleaned well and added a nice shine, but it didn't do anything for the scratches (my sink is quite old). Honestly, regular baking soda gives me a similar result for a basic clean. 2. The Frying Pan (Grease/Burnt-on). It removed the greasy buildup much faster than baking soda. I didn't have to scrub for ages — one round of cleaning and the pan was spotless. It definitely saves time. 3. The Bathroom Holder (Rust): This is where the magic happened! My bathroom holder was covered in rust spots. Baking soda doesn't even come close here. For rust removal, this is a 10/10. Pros & My Tips for Use: Kid-friendly: There is no harsh chemical smell, which is a huge plus since I can use it while my toddler is at home. The "Paste" Method: Don't use it dry, but don't drown it in water either. Add just enough water to make a thick paste (slurry). That’s whn it works best! Protect your hands: using gloves. Happy cleaning! Update April 9, 2026: I’ve decided to test this cleanser on new surfaces. Here are the updated results: Shower Glass. To be honest, it was harder to take a photo of the glass door than to get the result from the product. It handled hard water stains perfectly. I checked the label and found the Oxalic Acid - that’s the secret. It doesn't just scrub, it dissolves the mineral buildup. No long scrubbing required! Toddler's Sneakers. I saw others using this for white soles and decided to verify. The result is fantastic. The fine abrasive in the powder works wonders. It cleaned my toddle’s rubber soles perfectly without damaging or fraying them. Надеюсь, мой разбор был полезен! (Hope this was helpful! Happy shopping!)

Started using it on everything, it delivers every time
This has become a staple in my cleaning routine. Used it on a stainless steel pan with burnt residue, my glass top black stove, and the stainless steel exterior of my fridge. it performed well on all three. The stove in particular came out looking better than it has in years. A little goes a long way and it doesn't take much scrubbing. One important note: the label warns against using it on plastic surfaces, so keep that in mind. Hard to argue with results this consistent across that many surfaces.

Removes grime and soap scum in minutes!
My husband and I recently moved into a rental home that was previously occupied by 9 male college students that apparently never cleaned during their 2 year tenancy. The professional cleaners hired to handle the pre-move cleanup could only do so much in a limited time, leaving both showers with a hefty film of grime and soap scum that our landlord did not want to address. I tried many things - steam cleaner, abrasive bleach cleaners, Dawn power wash, vinegar solutions. Nothing made a dent and I was resigned to wearing shower shoes to avoid the sensory ick factor, treating my own bathroom like a gym locker room. After months of reading about the wonder of Bar Keepers Friend I decided to give it a try and WOW, I wish I had tried this stuff sooner! It cut through the grime and scum almost immediately. It is so effective that it took me less than 10 minutes to thoroughly clean and rinse both showers and leave them looking shiny and CLEAN! I almost can't believe it, but the results speak for themselves. Should we have had to spend months using a grimy shower in our new rental that professional cleaners didn't know how to handle? No, but the incredible satisfaction I've derived from successfully cleaning our tubs in mere minutes almost makes up for it. If you need to clean a nasty shower or tub, BUY THIS STUFF RIGHT NOW!! You will not regret it!

Safe, effective, gentle for kitchen, cookware, & bath surfaces, "Bar Keepers Friend" is my bestie!
I have used this "old friend" for years but sometimes it is hard to find in stores, so I was thrilled to find it on Amazon. It is fantastic for cleaning sinks, stoves, pots and pans, stained tea or coffee cups, bathtub, almost anything you can think of. It is gentle & I have never had it scratch or damage anything I've used it on. It'd great for scrubbing cooked-on grease from the bottom of cooking pans, though it will leave dark gray residue on your dish cloths. I have not used it on copper clad pans; just read the directions to be sure there is not a metal that it reacts with.

Very Effective Cleaner for Tough Stains — A Household Essential
The Bar Keepers Friend Powder Cleanser works impressively well on tough stains, rust, and grime. It restores sinks, cookware, and stainless steel surfaces to a like-new shine with minimal scrubbing. I love how versatile it is—great for the kitchen, bathroom, and even outdoor items. The only minor downside is that it can be a bit abrasive if you use too much, so it’s best to apply gently and rinse thoroughly.

Buy THIS. Not a new pot.
I have a new friend. I used this on an older dutch oven (red) and new-ish one (grey). I used the red one as a simmer pot because I couldn't get the stains out and made it worse. With tears in my eyes, I ordered new one. Mr. Grey. As a precaution, I ordered this cleaner just in case because I was making curry chicken. Long review short, I had to use a bit of elbow grease for the red pot (you can see why) but it was worth it. Just wet the surface, sprinkle the powder over entire area, wet your microfiber cloth and make a paste. Wait about a minute and get to pressure wiping. If you have a dutch oven GET THIS CLEANER. You will not be disappointed. This product is AMAZING.

Works like magic
My granddaughter who has a professional cleaning business introduced this to me. How could I get by without it for so many years? It is so gentle, I used it on my stainless steel sink without scratching. My granddaughter got magic marker on my new counter tops and the wood trim. I made a paste and removed the marks with zero scratching. Love this stuff. will purchase again. And I love Amazon. I live out in the country. so convenient to order and have delivered to my door.

Impressive
I recently received the Bar Keepers Friend cleanser and couldn't wait to put it to the test. My primary goal is to remove a stubborn stain from a wood project, but I also had some other uses in mind. I have a stainless steel sink and a gas stove that can be a real challenge to clean. At 72, I've learned to take it easy, but I still want to keep my kitchen looking its best. I'm thrilled to report that the cleanser worked beautifully on the sink and my pots and pans. I'll be posting before and after photos to show just how effective it was. I'm looking forward to tackling that wood stain project next! Truly, the only thing I can really find wrong with this cleanser is that once you clean something, you need to try it on something else, then something else, then something else!
