Perfect if you want to learn bridge
Excellent book if you are just getting into the bridge card game. Very well laid out with summary after each chapter. It’s easy to understand and explains it very well with lots of examples. I love the quizzes at the end of the chapter and little cheat sheets.

Wonderful for anyone interested in learning to play Bridge
After taking five, 3-hour beginning Bridge lessons and continuing on with weekly, 3-hour game playing, along with help from advanced players, I bought this book. There is so much to learn in this game, including "Bridge speak" ? It would be so much easier if we could just use normal words instead of hundreds of memorized Bridge terms (and their meaning) that are used like a secret code that everyone at the table understands.I am enjoying this adventure thanks to the brilliant ongoing play and instruction by our Bridge group who uses Audrey Grant. I got her short booklet for quick look ups but this book is wonderful for going over what we were taught and didn't remember or understand.I am loving this book and feel it will speed up my Bridge playing skills. It's easy to read, understand and fun! I love the quizes which are a great way to learn and have it stick. I highly recommend this book and look forward to her other books as well. The more I play and learn, the more fun and appreciation I have for the game, players, and the wonderful people who freely devote their time to teaching Bridge because of their love for this game.

Very good bridge book
This is very clear. I've played bridge for years but a complete beginner would be able to us this and be able to play bridge.

American Bridge
I'm taking a course on bridge basics to brush up on a game I haven't played in years. The instructor recommended this book and it is clear and informative.

learning bridge is more difficult than I thought... this book helps!
Ordered this book for a beginners bridge class I'm taking through a local bridge club. Teacher uses this book as the textbook for class. The highlighted boxes in the text are very helpful. I appreciate the quizzes at the end of each chapter. I will be ordering the second book in the series for the next class.

WWAD
When my "newbie" bridge group hits a situation that has us all stymied, our joke phrase is "WWAD?". What would Audrey Do?Many of us use her book as a study, reference guide. She is very knowledgeable in the ways of bridge. I use the ACBL website too, so I know she knows what she is talking about. Also, she is an outstanding teacher. It is easy to understand her teachings.I liked the format of the book. The first part of the chapters explain a topic. In the next part the topic points are demonstrated by bidding and playing bridge hands. She tells you the correct bidding and playing accompanied by a full explanation. Then at the end of the chapter is a quiz on the items covered in the chapter, again with answers and explanations. The material covered in the book is everything you need to know to start playing bridge, even duplicate bridge. I found it so helpful that I think It should be the course material book for all beginning bridge classes.Soon I will be buying the next book in her series.

seems like it was written 50 years ago
The book seems and sounds like it was written 50 years ago and, maybe just copied and pasted and updated a little bit with many words and terms that seem dated and need to be defined

Should be helpful
I purchased this book while taking bridge classes. I must admit that I haven’t even opened the book so far. It was recommended by my friends.
