Pathophysiology: A Clinical Approach

I'm already half way through the class and this textbook is amazing, very easy to read, they get to the point. If you don't know your anatomy/physiology or microbiology you WILL have a difficulty with this book. A lot of the reading expects you to have a good knowledge base on Anatomy/Physiology and microbiology.

I am using this book as a supplemental resource for the Family Nurse Practitioner Program I am in. It has really helped to improve my tests scores. It gives a different approach to the subject matter than what is presented in the traditional textbooks. I would definitely recommend it!

Great book, easy to read and understand. This book came in condition as described and shipping was quick! Great for anyone trying to learn more about paths phys! The author makes things easy to understand, there are lot of pictures and diagrams. I appreciated the easy way that it was written with a good mix of words and pictures. In my pharm book the print is VERY small (microscope anyone?) so this book was a nice change since the font is of a good size and there aren't too many words on the page. The pages are a bit flimsy as this is a paper back book so you have to be careful not to turn pages to quickly or cram it into your book bag or it will quickly get beat up. The pages highlight well and it does not bleed onto the next page so for someone like me who likes to make lots of notes and highlighting it was great!

I thought that this book was fairly effective in covering the majority of the material that it did. It would help, a fair amount, to know normal physiology before taking this class. It's not required, however. They will break down normal physiology down far enough for the clinical models used at the end of the chapters. Knowledge is consolidated fairly well. Information concerning treatments can sometimes be a little lacking, but should probably be expected. That would probably fall under more advanced classes or pharmacology.

Easy to read, and follow. Very well written. I "ALMOST" enjoyed reading this book (and I HATE reading textbooks) it does an AMAZING job at explaining things in a simple way for you to understand.

When I had to take my college course in Pathophysiology, this book was required. My instructor's homework was to answer the Discussion and Application questions in the back regarding to whatever chapter we were studying, the questions were the same every single chapter except worded differently because each chapter is a different topic. When you read the book, it doesn't really have the answers those questions are asking you, the book mainly tells you about certain diseases in regards to the topic you're studying and then the book will ask you questions about other diseases that weren't discussed in that chapter.Overall: If your instructor is making you do homework/study with this book, it's really tricky. If you're wanting a book to help you with your studies towards Pathophysiology, don't get this book. BUT, if you're wanting to learn more about diseases and the pathophysiology behind them, get this book.

A very good book. A lot of pictures, a lot of terminology! Very complicated reading that is very intense. If not good at memorizing not a good idea to take this course until your background dictates you're ready.

Good for the class I was taking. Rentals were easy to order and return. Great price.

Very good explanations, bit pricier than students would like though! Coming very handy for my nursing biomed. Maybe lower price...
