Bought the NOCO GENIUS5 to keep my car battery from dying during the weeks it sits unused. Setting it up was straightforward, just hooked up the clamps, plugged it in, and let it do its thing. It figures out the voltage on its own which is nice if you aren't sure what you're working with. The unit feels really solid and compact compared to older chargers I've used. It doesn't take up much space in the garage. I like that I can just leave it connected without worrying about overcharging since it switches to maintenance mode automatically. Only downside is the cables could be a bit longer. Had to use an extension cord to reach the outlet from where my car is parked. Also, the display is kind of small, so reading the status from across the garage isn't happening. Works as advertised though. Battery starts up strong even after sitting for a while. Glad I finally picked one of these up.

I decided to buy this after a lot of research comparing with other makes.The main reasons I went for this is mainly good reviews.This particular model fitted my requirements as it was more than enough to maintain the size of the battery I have. There are other Noco chargers of different specs ideal for the batteries of different specs so it is important to go for the one which covers your battery spec.The charger definitely feels good quality. The battery I wanted to revive was about ten years old which I normally charged once a month using my other normal charger as the car is stored and has not been used for years.Recently I noticed the battery would not charge.I discovered one cell was faulty.I thought of buying a new battery but before that I decided to buy this Noco charger which I will need to maintain the new battery and maybe revive the old one as it has the feature to do this.The truth is it did not revive the battery as I believe not every can be saved especially when too old.So mine could not be saved which I am not worried about.In the end I knew I have to get new battery. Hopefully this charger will maintain the new battery and the battery will last for years. I do recommend this great quality charger with a great features.My only reason of giving one star less is I found the charger gets quite warm or shall I say almost hot during long continuous use.I left it on over night charging this faulty battery which I mentioned above.Next day the charger was pretty much hot to touch. I think maybe this is due to the faulty battery which was not charging to full capacity so the charger was trying continuously to charge which resulted in the charger becoming hotter than normal. Normally the charger cuts out periodically to maintain a good battery so I guess it should operate much more cooler.I would advise it to leave it on something safe during long use.I did try to find out from officially Noco reps about the charger getting hot to which they replied yes it will be warm to touch during long use.

Excellent, charged to leisure battery in the camper in a few hours and maintained it for the duration of the stay.

Have not plug in yet, seems solid and well built. If you have used these items you would be ok. I get the red on red and black on black, however there are no instructions running you through the various modes, such that if I select the wrong mode it might not do what I want. Will check with Mr Google to see if he can help. I read numerous reviews for this item and all good. Some instructions for an idiot like me would be great, so far I would recommend,

I bought this NOCO battery charger to replace an ageing battery charger, and I needed a charger that would be suitable for the newer AGM/ Stop start batteries. Initially I had been given advice to purchase a well known competitor to the NOCO, but as I already own, and highly rate the NOCO jump starter/booster pack, I decided that I would stick with the brand. From the moment you open the box, it's clear to see that NOCO take time and effort to design and manufacture their products. The products are so well made, which make it a refreshing change from all of the usual cheaply produced rubbish that you see. The charger is a sturdy bit of kit and feels it. The battery lead come in two pieces - which is a brilliant idea. It makes it so much easier to attach the battery clamps to the battery, without worrying about the charger banging around behind. Especially as is often the case these days, the batteries can often be buried in the car somewhere. Talking of the battery clamps, they are a perfect size, not too big or too small, and the clamping pressure is spot on. The other advantage of the lead being in two is that you could permanently attach the clamp end to your battery terminals (obviously using the ring terminals instead of the clamps) and then leave the lead permanently attached to the car. It's simply a case then of attaching the other end (with the charger attached) to the lead - perfect if you want to regularly top up your battery. The end you leave on the car has a well made cover that simply attaches over the end and keeps it clean and dry, and the connection between the two leads is well constructed. On to the charger. It's so easy to use. Connect it all up to the battery and turn the mains on. The charger instantly goes on to standby, something that most battery chargers don't do, and I for one think it's an excellent safety feature. Simply press the button to select your battery type and leave it to do its job - it's that simple. The led's are nice and bright and show clearly the charging process of the battery. This is an excellent product and there are many reviews online for you to view before taking my word for it. Well done NOCO, another excellent product!
