A Survey of Mathematics with Applications (9th Edition)

First let me say that I am not a math major. I purchased this book because the textbook that is required for the liberal arts math course I am enrolled in does not go into enough detail on how to work out the problems. I once took an algebra class that required a textbook by author Allen R. Angel --- and I recalled that the way the book was written made it very easy to understand the equations. I correctly assumed that A Survey of Mathematics would be as equally helpful since Angel is one of the co-authors of the book---- and I was correct! This book is excellent because it explains the concepts in an easy-to-understand language as well going into step by step detail on how to work out the problems. I highly recommend it!

Excellent book to buy, even if you do not have a class. It is great reference for those little things in math we forget how to do. Excellent step-by-step instruction and explanations are clear and concise. I will keep it forever.

This book is great exactly what i needed just make sure to get.a huge binder to fit. Great price and came next day.

I thought this book was very helpful and informative for the math that I was reviewing, however, I felt that the book should have given more complicated examples that are used on tests such as the ACT, SAT, etc. This would help students achieve a better insight on how to do mathematical problems in different ways.

I purchased the book with ISBN:978-0321828040 which DID include the access code needed for my math course (no additional fee). I see that these reviews also include the book with ISBN:978-0321639325 which apparently does not include the access code. Therefore if you need the access code AND the book, make sure you purchase ISBN:978-0321828040.

I was taking a college class at TRIC that required this book for class. It was very informative and very easy to understand. I would highly recommend it to any student that is taking this math class to get this book. It will help you in Math 1250 a lot.

This is at best deceiving, at worst fraud. States it includes EVERYTHING the normal hardcover book contains, however this DOES NOT INCLUDE MYMATHLAB access. If you need that access, DO NOT BUY THIS. This has created a nasty problem of needing to return this and buy this locally from the college.

I had to get this math book for my MAT142 class. According to my math teacher this edition is not much different from the previous edition. The page numbers are different and there are only a small number of differences in the problems between the eighth edition and ninth edition. I would recommend you buy the eighth edition since it will probably be much more cheaper.
