Book Summary of Light On Pranayama The essence of his knowledge on asanas has already been presented in his other classic Light on Yoga; now, his maturity and refinement in pranayama are conveyed in this new work. The programme is spread over 200 weeks, requiring 15-30 minutes doily. The reader is also provided with a 33-poge section on glossary of terms and index. The 190 photographs in the book reiterate the meticulous core shown in the preparation. Photos illustrate the front, side, bock, and top views of Iyengar demonstrating the rights and wrongs and dos and don ts. In summary, I would wholeheartedly recommend this book to all those interested in yogic breathing. The techniques of Pranayama are difficult to acquire as there are few masters able to present them in a manner intelligible to the West - B.K.S. Iyengar is undoubtedly such a master. Practical instructions to develop perfect physical health and a sound, harmonious mind. A book for all who are interested in meditation and Review: Best book on the science of pranayama - Hand down, this is the best and most authoritative text on the ancient yogic science of breath and life force control ever written. It’s written by the author of one of the most important reference guides to the overall practice of hatha and raja yoga, Light on Yoga by BKS Iyengar. Review: Light on Pranayama - Love this book, it is wonderful gives full details on breathing, much more detailed than other books I jhave seen.

Classic title, but photo repro could be better
I have the original paperback version from the 1970s which is now falling apart. This offering is a straight copy, page for page, which is what I was looking for. However, while the print is a bit clearer, the photos of Mr Iyengar, which are an important feature of this work, are not so clear as my 1970s copy, as regards contrast and definition. So it's 5 stars for Mr Iyengar's content, but only 3 stars for the quality of reproduction.

Must possess asset for a Yogi.
Never expected someone to include very minor details in writing. Such a brief book and practical book on pranayam, gives an experience of being taught orally as someone including every of your query and questions you will face during practice. Very vivid about the types of pranayam, uses and it's adaptability. And somehow good for a beginner who don't have or want any human help.

Great book
This an amazing book which provides an in depth understanding about yoga and Pranayam. As the title of the book clearly indicates, this book is dedicated to Pranayam only, but one must have mastered the basic asans before doing Pranayam, this has been clearly mentioned in the book at several places. Therefore it is advisable to first read about the basic asans from the book Light on Yoga which has been authored by Iyengar himself. Reading this book has been an eye opener for me because it goes into so many fine details and nuances of yoga which cannot be learnt without considerable practice. Iyengar is in a different league altogether, none of the so called self proclaimed yoga gurus can measure upto him except Sadhguru. My interest in yoga first grew when I saw videos of Sadhguru on YouTube. Yoga is a wonderful and powerful tool to transform our lives and experience things which we cannot even dream of.
