Multiple Mini Interview for the Mind (Advisor Prep Series)

Needs more complete answers and responses
Dr. To's book has been useful in understanding and formulating MMI responses. There aren't many books covering this subject so I picked this one based on reviews. I choose to not give it five stars because most of the answers Dr. To provides are very neutral and don't convey a side. Being able to understand both sides of an issue is important in responding to MMI questions, but so is indicating what your stance is on a topic while providing an argument and personal experiences to back up your opinion. I would recommend this book to help formulate a neutral response, but to answer the questions in a real MMI you need to go deeper than "mediate both sides of the issue and then hope to come to an agreement".

short, vague and poorly written
This book is kind of hard to take seriously as it has typos on nearly every page. Not just misspellings, but sentences that are so poorly structured as to be borderline incomprehensible. If you're gonna try to charge $30 for a book that reads like it was written in an afternoon, you could take an extra half hour to proofread it. The "sample model responses" to MMI prompts are generally vague and not very helpful. 2 stars because he says "may god bless you in your endeavors" and that makes me feel bad for some reason. Like when you ignore someone begging for money on the street and they say "god bless you" as you pass and you suddenly feel guilty.

Helped me get accepted
This book was extremely helpful for my MMI interview. I have heard some people say you can't prepare for an MMI and this is patently wrong. I like the format for answering questions, my only suggestion is to not let it make your answers sound too formulaic. You are still having a conversation and want to come of as a thoughtful person not a robot. I also HIGHLY recommend taking a practice interview with Kevyn. My interview went well and I was accepted! I honestly don't know if that would have been the outcome without these resources.

Helping to put your best foot forward.
I bought the book to have a better understanding of how MMI's are conducted. Benefiting from the techniques of the author's personal experience, the book will help me to prepare and increase my confidence for any kind of interview. The author demonstrates an understanding of the interviewing process, and reading is relaxed and easy. With some practice I will have a comfortable knowledge base and some role playing experience to step into an "on the spot situations and scenarios" that might be presented during the interviewing process, which can alleviate some of the anxiety associated with the interviewing process.

General MMI information with good tips
As an interviewee for a veterinary program, this book is excellent in preparing you to think about general MMI formats. In my experience, it offered advice in a variety of areas which helped me feel more prepared for the MMI.

Very helpful to practice with. I used this for ...
Very helpful to practice with. I used this for the last couple of weeks before my MMI along with a couple of other resources (there was some british video of students answering MMI questions you can watch online for some money) and an ethics book with MMI style writing and I got in to my top choice. Don't know if I can attribute it to the book, but it helped provide the confidence I needed for sure

A big help for MMI
As an older applicant to medical school last cycle, I was not aware of the new MMI interview format many medical schools in the US now use. I came across this book and it helped breakdown the MMIs. The scenarios and sample answers in the book were very similar to ones I encountered on my actual interviews. Things ended up working out for me and I attribute my success to this book!! Thank you!

Not bad!
Not the best MMI book, as some of the content is relevant for the actual MMI interview It doesn't provide a feel for an MMI.Best advice: Attend short MMI courses at the Medic Portal, they are proven to be very good in preparing students for the actual MMI interview.

Worth a read, but limited content.
I used this book as part of my preparation for an MMI. Yes, there are some good strategies in the book. There are some practice cases with suggested solutions. The text is large so it is easy on the eyes... but the corollary is that there is quite limited content that you could otherwise get on the internet.I would recommend you consider a brief read through this book - you could probably finish it in two hours at most. Perhaps good to share this book with your friends or borrow from the library, but I wouldn't say this is a book worth keeping at its price.

Practice makes perfect โ a useful addition to an interview prep regimes!
Bought this book to prepare for med school interviews. Practiced the scenarios with my family and a co-applicant to try and get into the MMI headspace.Found the variety of scenarios and prompting questions useful, and helped shift how I approached interviews. Not sure if it can all be attributed to the practice I did with this book, but both myself and my co-applicant got acceptance offers right away (no wait lists)!Would recommend as part of MMI prep regimes. Best of luck to all future applicants!

Helped me prep for MMI's!
I bought this book in 2017 to help prep for my medical school interview. It provided example Multiple Mini Interviews (MMI's) that stimulated my thought process, and allowed me to become familiar with the format of MMI's before my interview.

overall good book.
The content is good especially for someone who have no clue about MMI, however similar information can be found on utube or online discussion. I bought it for my daughter, at the end she got accepted to the program she wanted. If you are a tight on budget, skip the book. Form your own practice group, do mock MMI regularly.
