Here is a clever blend of humor, math wizardry, and business know-how. As it captures the one-of-a-kind bond between brother and sister, this poignant novel also subtly explores how arguments can escalate beyond anyoneโs intent. For a full hour, he poured lemonade. The world is a thirsty place, he thought as he nearly emptied his fourth pitcher of the day. And I am the Lemonade King. Evan Treski is people-smart. Heโs good at talking with people, even grownups. His younger sister Jessie, on the other hand, is math-smartโbut not especially good at understanding people. She knows that feelings are her weakest subject. With just five days left of summer vacation, Evan and Jessie launch an all-out war to see who can sell the most lemonade before school starts. As the battleground heats up, there really is no telling who will winโand even more important, if their fight will ever end. The six books in this fun-to-read series are: The Lemonade War The Lemonade Crime The Bell Bandit The Candy Smash The Magic Trap The Bridge Battle Review: Good read - Another great read! Review: You won't go wrong with this one - Excellent read.

Almost perfect
Compelling. Better writing than much of kidโs fare nowadays. I mightโve given it 5 stars but for one thing. It canโt be considered perfect if it includes taking the Lordโs name in vain, as pictured on page 65. This had to be addressed before handing it over to a 9 year old, whom I am trying to teach *not* to use the Lordโs name in a disrespectful way. Otherwise, highly recommended.

Excellent book for third graders!
I ordered The Lemonade War for my third grader reading intervention group. We have copies of this book at school, but the print was so tiny. I was hoping the print would be larger. I am so pleased with the size of the print! Third graders love this book!!

The Lemonade War- recommended
I read The Lemonade War aloud to my third-grade students, and it was an instant favorite. The story of Evan and Jessieโsiblings caught in a summer business rivalryโwas both fun and thought-provoking. My students were hooked from the very first chapter, and every day they begged to read โjust one more.โ
