Wordly Wise 3000 Book 7: Systematic Academic Vocalulary Development

I have been using this system for 4 years in homeschooling my differently abled son. Challenging words, good activities, great reading selections. Also has online flashcards and most lessons are also on quizlet

We have used these books since first starting to homeschool our children who were in 1st and 3rd grade at the time. Now they are in 5th and 7th and though I had to exchange my daughters for the 9th grade version, I could say it’s because word wise has taught her so well!

I love how this program is set up so my daughter is learning how to spell but also the context and meaning of words. This helps her learn to use these words, not just blindly spell them and then never use them again. Very well done.

this is a great workbook but i found it not as challenging as i thought. my daughter too found it a bit easy . over all ,it's great work book

This is a very helpful resource for teaching vocabulary. If you schedule is too hectic to include discrete time for vocabulary, try using their website for the last 5 minutes of class. It introduces a word, gives definition, illustration, sample sentence, and then administers a 5 second quiz. "Which would represent a cylinder: a soccer ball or a garden hose? If you guessed garden hose, you are correct." The students cheer when they get it right. They love it.

Love this brand for homeschooling. Make sure you check out the brand website to find out what numbers are associated with what grades!! They have changed the pattern of number to grade over the years and you want to make sure you are ordering the right grade for your child. Woul d also be great as a supplement to public school for children who are struggling with vocabulary, writing or reading comprehension.

we homeschool and use this for vacab study. my student does one lesson per day (half a lesson if it is a long lesson). His vocab can beat most adults. he also is reading at a high school level and would be ending 3rd grade if he were in piublic school. His strong reading and writing abilities on testing is due to using this program mixed with a lot of reading of advanced books. if you child could use help in english or reading/ speaking literature I can not reccommend this program enough. We have been using for several years and will use with all other children as well.

The book is sound and useful, but does anyone ever receive the answer key? I've had three replacements thus far, and none included the answer key, although the product description clearly indicates the answer key is included with the book. I'm not sure if it's supposed to be inside the book (it's not in the ones I receive), or if it's a separate item. I'm giving up on trying to get one and will settle for the book. UPDATE 12/28/13. Amazon was kind in helping me obtain a discounted price, since three attempts to re-ship the book with the answer key did not ever result in the mythical answer key. I received emails, though, from 4-5 different Amazon reps about the matter, which became more complex than it's worth going into. Eventually, though, they re-read the emails by other reps and agreed to a suitable discount. They said they'd take measures to avoid this problem again by correcting the error on the website. Indeed, the website no longer promises to include the answer key, though the price seems the same with or without it.

Great study book

I highly recommend this curriculum book. My daughter’s vocabulary improved so much after working on this book . She Found the topics in this book interesting and also really enjoyed doing the questions. This workbook however does not have answers in the back so I recommend purchasing the answer book .

No better way to improve and enrich your English vocabulary and understanding. My kids write and speak like literature majors. Could never understand why it is not used at English schools. No wonder my kids speak and write ten times better than anyone else we met in the UK.

It is a very good book and the lessons are very interesting and fun to do . Will recommend to others.
