Now a new Netflix series, Oddballs ! Instant New York Times bestseller · Hilarious stories and advice about the ups and downs of growing up, from a popular YouTube artist and storyteller. Like any shy teen turned young adult, YouTube star James Rallison ("The Odd 1s Out") is used to being on the outside looking in. He wasn't partying in high school or winning football games like his older brother. Instead, he posted comics on the Internet. Now, he's ready to share his hard-earned advice from his 21 years of life in the funny, relatable voice his fans love. In this illustrated collection, Rallison tells his own stories of growing up as the "odd one out": in art class with his twin sister (she was more talented), in the middle school locker room, and up to one strange year of college (he dropped out). Each story is filled with the little lessons he picked up along the way, serious and otherwise, like: * How to be cool (in seventh grade) * Why it's OK to be second-best at something, and * How to survive your first, confidence-killing job interviews Filled with fan-favorite comics and never-before-seen material, this tongue-in-cheek take on some of the weirdest, funniest parts of life is perfect for both avid followers and new converts. Review: Fun to read - Cool, Funny and actually inspiring, comics were the fun part and you could read the whole book in a day Review: It was a great purchase! - I really liked this book even though some stories were from his old videos still I really like reading books, When he talks about his brother he tells about the story he had already told in a video still we get to see this all as the younger brother's pov, So it was a great purchase!

Half Book Review: I bought this comicbook when Sonny Liew the famous comic artist and author put out a list of top 10 bestselling comicbooks in Singapore and it looked kinda interesting and fun and light to read. And hey I was the odd 1 out in my school too so was curious. I also planned that after I went through it I would give it to Ethan my nephew. I didn't know anything more about the author or the book background. As I casually mentioned to Ethan that I have got this book, he screamed and jumped up and down saying he's huge fan of the Youtube videos of James Rallison in the same name with many episodes. And started whatsapping.me from his Mom's phone to please please give him the book. So apparently James is this teenage Youtube Sensation who created these animated comic fun videos of his school and college days (and also voice acts) . There are many episodes and Ethan says he's seen all of them. James's channel has over 1.1 billion views in total and has a little over 10 million subscribers. The book is a recent attempt to write and illustrate a collection of his best videos and childhood/teenage life incidents. Well I got only halfway through because someone was sooo eager to read them asap!!! :) :) No matter, I am now going to get onto watching those animated videos which are I must admit after watching a few, super fun!!

A book with comics and morals
I like how he describes his childhood/teen life with humor rather than those who describe it as a struggle to go through.his writings are not cheesy and most of them are sarcastic. At the end of every chapter there is a moral worth sharing.

My 8 year old “odd one out” absolutely loves this book.
My son is 8 and has a lot of medical and social challenges. This is his favorite book and he’s read it twice! He’s also read sections of it to me. It has given him great perspective on his own quirks. Sections of this book are laugh out loud funny. It’s not politically correct or warm and fuzzy so don’t expect that from the book. But in our house we joke around a lot about our personal challenges and my son has a great sense of humor about his own issues. So this book is perfect for him.
