This product is outstanding. My preferred shave is with an old fashioned safety razor and the Truefitt & Hill shaving cream is the best I’ve found to complement my razor. The cream doesn’t dry my skin, and the lather and lubricity provides for the closest shave I’ve gotten in years. As an added benefit, my wife loves the scent!

Very good shaving soap cream (lathers amazingly with very little soap. The scent of Grafton is a very 'clean' slightly soapy piney scent I think. A bit heavier than I would have liked, but as a soap it fades quickly enough. I don't think I'd order the aftershave or balm in this scent. The 1805 is nice and I'm getting ready to try the Trafalgar. TOBS is a very close second for lather quality and comfort. Probably not worth the extra price unless you like this particular scent.

I have been DE shaving for about a decade, and have tried several upscale brands of shaving cream. This is the first time I've tried Truefitt & Hill; been hesitant due to the much higher price. So far, I have to say this is a great shaving cream. A little dab on my brush produces a nice, thick lather. The scent is subtle yet very pleasant; not too overpowering. Still, besides the great scent, I don't see any difference from T&H's shave cream to the much more affordable Taylor of Old Bond Street brand shave cream. The lather is the same, the slickness when shaving is the same, just ToOB has a more generic scent, and a tad more strong.

The smell is subjectively nice to me. It’s not strong but pleasant in the morning. After I’m done it mostly goes away which I like. Since you’re going to shave “forever “ I suggest you splurge and buy a good quality badger hair brush and at least a decent bowl. Dampen the brush, swirl around a few times, put a tablespoonish of hot water in the bowl and work up a nice warm lather. This is absolutely worth every penny.

After having gone through a tub of Taylor of Old Bond Street Sandalwood, i researched the web for the best shaving cream and this brand came up often. It does have double the price of TOBS so i figured it should be twice the product? Well, i'll let you decide whether the price is worth it for you, for me I believe it is. Compared to TOBS this shaving cream is simply richer, when mixed with water in a bowl the consistency is, well for lack of a better word, mellower than TOBS. I can't quite put my finger on it, but you realize the difference in quality when you try them both, this one just feels better when you play around with it after mixing it up. It sort of feels a bit more gooey, but in a good way. Aside from the type of lather this product provides, I have also found it more pleasing to the skin. After the first pass when i wet my face with warm water again and put on another layer for the second pass, this product feels more gentle than TOBS on the skin. In addition, I like the fragrance as well, TOBS Sandalwood has quite a strong scent (it lasts for a couple hours after your shave, yet is still subtle). This Truefitt & Hill Grafton has a (in my opinion) good masculine scent which is much more subtle than that of TOBS. It does not last as long after shaving and is not as strong as TOBS, but for an hour two you can still smell the nice, subtle, masculine scent. On top of all that, this product (in my opinion) being better than TOBS in every way it can, the seller also hooked up the larger 6.7 Oz (190g) tub, which I was delighted to see when I first opened up my package. Don't cut yourself now.
