I recently picked up the Spurtar Oil Filter Wrench for Toyota Cap to do my own oil changes, and I am absolutely thrilled with this tool! If you own a Toyota with the cartridge-style oil filter, this wrench is an absolute game-changer and deserves a full 5-star rating. What immediately impressed me was the precision fit. I cannot recommend this oil filter wrench enough!!!. The Toyota Prius has a unique configuration on its plastic oil filter housing and if the housing is wrenched too tight to begin with, it's almost impossible to take it off without breaking it unless you have this type of oil filter cap wrench. If the plastic filter housing breaks, you are totally screwed. This cap wrench will not only have the appropriate amount of flutes that dovetail with and grab the configuration of the filter housing but will also have the notches on the side of the cap wrench that engage the plastic tabs on the sides of the filter housing which is an essential feature if your filter housing is placed on the engine too tightly. I tried other manufacturers' design that was similar to this one in terms of trying to latch onto those plastic tabs, but all the other filter wrench caps were absolutely useless, would not engage those tabs correctly, and were very difficult to even try and fit onto the oil filter housing in the first place. This unit fits absolutely perfectly and totally engaged every feature of the filter housing, including the critical side tabs, allowing me to successfully remove the housing without breaking anything. The other filter wrenches were just a piece of crap. This one was absolutely spot-on and totally saved my butt. KUDOS!

I bought this adapter for oil changes on a 2015 RAV4. The fit is very snug, which is exactly what you want. Once seated, it grips firmly and makes it much easier to put torque into removing the cartridge. It provides solid leverage and straightforward access to replace the filter. The pictures don’t do the machining justice. I was expecting something lighter, but the build quality is far better. The tool is about 1/8" thick on all the working edges, with nearly 1 cm of material at the drive end. It arrived well packaged and feels like it will last for years. As for ruggedness, this thing impressed me. I had to brace myself against the tire and pull back with my full weight, almost like rowing a boat, to break a stubborn cartridge free. At one point I added nearly 30" of leverage just to get it loose. Whoever used an air gun to install that filter made it a real fight, but this adapter still handled it without flinching. It will work for you too, just make sure the tabs are aligned with the cutouts on the lid. One note: the adapter grips so tightly that it is always difficult to remove once seated. I usually slide in a wrench extension and rock it forward and back until it drops free. Honestly, that firm bite is more of a plus than a minus. I would rather it hold tight than slip.

For the money its a great value if your toyota filter cartridge isnt torqued on to high heaven. The product fits on good , easy to install and easy to remove , however it may not be snug enough for a filter housing that is stuck. The quality is fair and good enough if torqued to 18ft lbs to OEM spec. I felt it was starting to slip under the pressure from a 18" breaker bar. I stopped the operation and ordered a high end socket costing 4x as much as I dont want to damage the filter housing. Prior owner either way over torqued using impact tool or failed to lube the o-rings or the 18F weather froze things in place. I should never have to use a 18" breaker bar on a 18ft-lbs torc spec component.

Toyota Dealership put my oil filter on so tight I had to use this tool and an impact wrench to get it off. Worked like a champ.

Résistante, très bonne prise sur la coupelle de fonderie: grâce aux ergots. Aucun soucis pour la dépose-repose du filtre à huile. Utilisée pour une TOYOTA YARIS 3, essence VVT-IE 1,4 Litres-110CV. Type: XP13M-NSP13-NSP131L (D.2 pour une carte grise Française). Les couples de serrages utilisés: ==> pour la coupelle de fonderie (endroit ou se loge le filtre à huile): 25N.m, ==> pour la vis qui se trouve sur cette même coupelle (prise carré 1/4 de pouce): 13N.m, ==> la vis M14 de vidange (sur le carter inférieur): 30N.m, ==> vis de roue: 100N.m. Huile utilisée, 5W30 IGOL synthétique. Qte # 3.5Litres. Toutes ces informations, parce-que on trouve un peut du "grand" n'importe quoi sur cette toile!
