Lost and Found: Emi Lost & Found Series : Book One [Otto, Lori L.] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Lost and Found: Emi Lost & Found Series : Book One Review: Must Read Series! - When I discovered this book, I honestly didn't know what to anticipate, but my expectations were not very high. I had found it on a blog's list of freebies back when I first started reading Indie books. I mean...it was free. At the time, this was insane to me. FREE! Now, and partially in thanks to this book, I download tons of freebies and have found so many other hidden gems this way. In the beginning, it seemed like it would be a typical, cute, "best friends turned lovers" type of story. In some ways, it was, but it had ingredients that I live for--angst and tension. If you are not a fan of those things, don't worry, it's not an excessive amount, but it was definitely enough to keep me interested. But, most importantly...it had Nate. Nate Wilson is talented, sexy, chivalrous, sweet and loving--his critics would say maybe a little too loving, at times. He is, in a nutshell, amazing. I spent the majority of the book envious of the history between Nate and his best friend since high school, Emi Hennigan. No matter what goes on in either of their lives, he seems to put her first, and you almost feel sorry for his girlfriends--almost. The story is told through Nate's POV and you live in his conflicted mind, knowing what he really wants before he does. Oh, and Emi? She will drive you nuts and I honestly didn't like her much until near the end. Regardless, you just know Emi and Nate are meant to be together, and after a frustrating series of events, it seems they may finally get what you want for them. I love this book, so much. The rest of the series is amazing as well, but whatever you do; do not read any reviews/spoilers, or even the synopsis for the other books! Let things play out as they do without giving yourself a hint of what's to come--trust me, it makes so much more of an impact. Review: 4 Stars because I care enough to HATE it! - I won't write a spoiler review but I feel so completely mislead by this book. The story of Nate and Emi is full of ups and downs and took me on an emotional roller coaster. It's not a new story, a Harry and Sally with waaaay more angst. I was surprised that only the beginning of the book is told by Emi and the remainder is from Nate's perspective. I kept waiting for it to switch back to Emi, but it never did. I honestly think that would have helped because I wanted to kick Emi in the head for most of the book. She just seemed so immature and selfish, drank too much despite the fact that she knew how Nate felt about alcohol, and didn't seem to want Nate to be happy. THEN, when he finally confesses his feelings, she tells him he's full of it and she's just a rebound. It bugged me that she had known him for so many years and they were allegedly best friends but yet she thought he would throw all that away just to sleep with her. Again, because I only got Nate's perspective, it was damn hard to side with Emi. Yes, Nate got around, but he was actually trying to find love in his own way. He chose girls that were completely wrong for him, but he's a guy in his 20's. If a girl is attractive and into him, what could be wrong? By the time Nate and Emi's story finally heads in the direction I had been holding my breath for, the author threw such a curve ball that I wanted to throw my Kindle across the room. I am upset. So upset that I don't even want to read the rest of the series. Without giving too much away, I don't understand why this book was written from Nate's point of view if the series is really about Emi. Like I said, maybe if I got more of her perspective, I would feel differently. Why 4 stars then? Because I was so emotionally drawn to this book and could not stop reading it! The author does a great job of conveying the intense emotions of the main characters. The story felt very realistic to me because Nate and Emi made so many mistakes. I found it to be a bit repetitive at times and got kind of tired of Nate droning on and on about his feelings. Too much from him, not enough from Emi. Bottom line, this was a very good book and it wouldn't be fair to rate it poorly just because I didn't like the way it ended. Maybe at some point my curiosity about what happens next will outweigh my disappointment and I will purchase the other books.

This book is infuriating!
I have to start off by saying I love the concept of this book, two friends who are in love with each other. The thing that I could not stand was the characters indecisiveness especially Emu I wanted to knock her head with my fist saying is anyone in there?! With that said its not awful and there are some great parts in the book but it was for the most part irritating me to no end!

I am disappointed after the terrific comments and ratings, Artificial writing style, annoying and exaggerating characters, could not finish the book

This book deals with Nate & something that has been in front of his eyes the whole time. Emi. However as they have a pact of friendship, 'more' does come into it further down the line. Nate associated sex with love & let's say he has plenty of the former but the latter I can't believe he has ever experienced it. Is it what he has with Emi. She has her doubts so this is when the book becomes irritating. So for those who have problems of dealing with indecision, as a lot of these types of tales have angst, then this isn't for you. My feelings for Nate are mixed. His art consumes him to cover for his issues. Yes him & Emi, everyone expected it. You have flashbacks here & there. But the author made me question him just like Emi did. I don't doubt his feelings were real & finally he accepted them but and that's it but. Others may not feel the same. In conclusion he was a manwhore. Do they change their ways? Emi, your fathers indiscretion was the cause of a lot of your issues which is not only dealt with in this book but others in the series. Your brother Chris was your rock. There's lots going on & this does end in a cliffhanger & it's not a standalone. It's not the type of book for a quick read it's one you'll have to endure to take Emi's journey in finding love.

OMG I am still blown away and I think I shall remain that way thank you very much Ms Otti I just become one of your biggest fan. I have read may book that was breathtaking but non has ever kept me that way for the entire book, (and series plus it gets better) I was thoroughly blow away good and proper. Every single page brought something new, new twist, turn, sweetness, love, just everything. Nothing that happened in this book I was expecting. The writing is what I really want to talk about. When I say exquisite I meant something flawlessly exquisite...truly. That and the character were the best thing about this book. Nate Nate Nate I love him he is so sweet, sexy, caring, and a wonderful friend and lover. "Your the sexiest women I've ever know, Emi. In my wildest fantasies, you weren't this beautiful, this alluring." Miss Emily (Emi) Hennigan loved her too "Nate, please know I feel the same about you. You've always been my best friend... And I had a feeling you'd be a good lover , but I didn't know things could be like this" My Emi Their story was not always so romantic they started as friends even thought they always deeply loved each other. "My curiosity was piqued, but Nate and I were never going to be anything more than friends. He was hot but we had an arrangement" Their journey had so may ups and downs, at some points I just wanted to bang their heads together and tell them the wake up just see what is right in front of you. The start of this book have me a headache Because I tried to predict what was coming next and Nate was rising my blood pressure, once I gave up and lost myself truly in the story and characters, I had a better experience. Nate, I love that this book is from his POV because we get to understand him and why he did some of the things he did. (Still don't make it better or Ok I still did not like him at the start. but at least I understood this taught process and motivation) This review is all over the place because that is exactly how this book left me completely Shattered and scatters. The ending was something else altogether. Nate and Emi story is no fairy tale it's real with real devastating emotions. They make the wrong choices and decision, like the rest of us. Once you start this book you will not be able to put it down and when it's finished you will need to read the next one, IMMEDIATELY I just could not wait to find out what happens next. Please please please read this book it's AMAZING and so is the rest of the series.

In some respects, I felt the story was a little to drawn out, but then when you truly consider it, the story is frighteningly real. The characters are so engaging and you can't help but fall in love with them both and the supporting characters. A lot of support characters in romance books tend to be fleeting, wooden and a little pointless, but in these pages you really can feel the connections that they all have, and they feel very real and convincing, I truly adored this story, and I am already starting on the next one. The themes address are convincing and very true to how normal people would react, I know if I was emi, I would have reacted in exactly the same way. The progression between there friendship, the ending and rekindling, I will admit, made me cry. I thought how could such a glorious friendship break like that. The mark of a true story teller is making the reader fall in love, feel part of the story and cry out when it ends, and Lori is one such person. Thank you for sharing such a fantastic book with us. I'm off to read the next one.
