6 Tornado Foosball Men Counter Balanced Roll Pin

I bought these to replace some fairly low quality broken men. Some coworkers have also bought sets and we are slowly converting a table full of terribly designed men with these sturdy ones. The table had non-standard bars (slightly larger), so I had to use a pipe reamer to strip out a small amount of the very hard plastic. If you plan to ream some out to fit on a slightly larger bar, take your time and make sure you push the reamer all the way through both directions before increasing the diameter for the next pass of material removal; failing to do this can lead to slightly wobbly men. Mounting: - Original: The men were three pieces, the main stress-bearing seam right at the bar. The attachment screw went through the head. With all of the impact causing the screw to flex, it would cause breakage on the (odd-sized) screws at the lower point of contact with the bar. - Tornado: These are solid single-piece construction. The attaching roll pin goes through side of the man in the middle of the chest. This led to only those bars with a low count of men being replaced at a time, as they are mounted at 90 degree offsets to the original men (must replace a full bar at the same time). Balance: - Original: These men were always heavy in the feet, causing the bars to rotate by themselves. - Tornado: Fully balanced, these will stay at any position in which you manage to set them. The balance is good enough that a nice smack in the foot from a ball can cause the bar to go spinning. Feet: - Original: With small, flat and smooth feet it is hard to control the ball. - Tornado: Nice wide tapered and textured feet allow players to do things I never saw on the table until the better men were attached. Very good for ball handling and imparting that quirky spin on a ball. The taper of the feet does seem to cause the ball to be ejected from the table a bit more than the original flat-footed men, but you need to hold them at just the right angle as someone hits the ball for this to happen. We have now replaced 16 of the guys (a few of these sets and some random smaller set a coworker found somewhere) on a table holding 26. As the middle bars have five men of each color, we need to get more than one of these set before we can replace it, and end up with at least one leftover of each color. Overall these were a good buy. They definitely improved the break-time games and with the strength of these men, I don't think we'll run into someone trying to epoxy a broken man back onto the bar. Yes someone did manage to epoxy a few men on our table, forcing the use of a drill press and a bit of sanding to clean up and make the bars usable again.

Second time was the charm. First shipment lacked pins. I bought this for a Warrior table because I could not find Warrior replacement men. I read that these men might be a little less brittle than Warrior’s, and I think that might be right. (Not fully vetted with hours of game play yet though)…. Only warning is that the inner diameter of these guys is slightly larger than Warrior’s guys. They are not tight to the rod alone, but they locked in fine for my tolerances once the roll pins were set in place.

Great quality. No problems. These are Tornado-brand replacement men. Price seems a little steep, but that is not what I'm reviewing here. I ordered these replacements and they worked perfectly on my table.

Order this, and when the men arrived they did not fit the rods properly. Basically they are so loose on the rods that they wobble, and within a few days break because of the improper fit.

Great quality! Have not been able to break them. We have commercial table and the kids are very hard on the table. These are tough.
