OXO Good Grips Etched Coarse Grater, Orange

I’ve been using this grater for a few weeks now, and it’s quickly become one of my favorite kitchen tools! It’s ideal for grating a wide range of foods, including semi-soft cheeses, zucchini, onions, and even butter—basically everything I need for cooking and baking. The sharp, etched stainless steel surface makes grating quick and effortless, and it creates finely grated ingredients with minimal effort. I’ve used it for everything from salads to homemade mac and cheese, and it always performs flawlessly. The convenient cover is a great feature! It keeps the sharp grating surface protected when not in use, which is a huge plus for storage and safety. Plus, it helps keep the grater from getting dirty, especially if I’m putting it in a drawer with other kitchen tools. I also really appreciate the non-slip foot, which provides excellent control while grating. Handy cheese grater, I use almost everyday with block cheese. Fine and regular grated cheese helps for topping off meals or adding while cooking. Has stayed in perfect condition so far. Clean quickly right after using to avoid stuck on cheese.

OXO does it again! My old box grater was a space thief, difficult to clean and took forever to drain/dry. I only ever used the coarse side, so it really wasn’t earning its keep. Enter this beauty…it’s sharp and grates carrots, celery, hard cheese and dry bread crumbs with nearly zero effort/pressure. I’ve only had it for a day, but I’ve given it a workout. It also stores easily in a drawer, but I may end up keeping it in a utensil crock on my counter as the cover is quite secure. I won’t have to worry about grated fingertips as I’m reaching for other items. OXO!!

This OXO good Grips orange zester is a very good product. This product is nicely made to hold at an angle with one hand and doesn't slip while zesting the large naval orange with my other hand. I really do like that it comes with a plastic guard to cover and protect the blades. Just be very careful when zesting the orange so that you don't accidentally knick or cut your fingers/knuckles because the blades are really sharp! Also I love that it is colored a nice orange and black, it stands out. It is exactly as pictured here on Amazon. Easy to wash and clean. Not bulky. Very happy. I recommend this product to anyone who is seeking an excellent orange zester. It came in handy when trying to bake "healthy Morning Glory Muffins". (Excellent recipe!) This cheese grader is a huge upgrade from the last one we owned. My only gripe with it is that it's a little small. Its easy to hold, and super easy to use. I just wish they would have made it like an inch wider and longer. Then it would be perfect.

I've bought two of these graters now. I mostly used them to grate carrots and beets for salads. The first one purchased several years ago was very sharp at first. It would cut the tip of your finger off by barely grazing it. So definitely pay attention and don't grate things down so close to your fingers. Over a few years the first grater is still plenty sharp, but has "dulled" down to a reasonable sharpness. I can still grate my carrots easily and quickly, but lose less chunks of fingertips. The second one I purchased in 2025 (for another kitchen) isn't razor sharp, but plenty sharp for carrots and veggies. It is more forgiving of a finger graze, but also grates very effectively after a couple months. They both make quick work of a carrot. I find it well designed for comfort and storage. The rubber end foot doesn't slide on the cutting board. The handle is plastic and hard rubber. It's a good size for gripping, solid with a touch of cushion and doesn't slip in my hand, which I find is comfortable for the duration of grating. I wouldn't use it for grating horizontal over a bowl. The angle would be wrong and the grater doesn't have notches to hold on to the bowl. But I prefer grating over a cutting board anyhow. It's best holding the grater at an angle, stabilizing it on a flat surface. You could use it free for something quick like cheese on top of a dish, but I think it's better to push down on a solid surface for stability and not accidentally cutting yourself. I like the snap-on cover to protect the blades and things in your drawer. It has a flat profile and stores easily. I hand wash it and the materials have remained in good shape over the years.

This grater works great! Easy to clean and easy to store after use. What do you expect from OXO. They always produce great kitchen equipment.

I bought this grater in March 2023, its is sharp and stands up to any cheese, without making my 70 yr old hands tired. I like the cover that protects it in the drawer. What isn’t great is the plastic rim it cracked almost immediately but didn’t impair the function. Two and half years later it is falling off. Still grates, sharp as ever, but if it comes off much more it will be useless. I’ll probably buy another OXO, but maybe a different style. I still use my mother’s hand grater, all metal and 80 yrs old. Not as sharp but neither am I!

What an excellent grater! We have been using this grater non stop since purchasing and couldn't recommend it enough. It is made of sturdy metal, is easy to clean using a dish brush (scrub in the direction of the holes), is very sharp (some care needed - not for young hands), and the cover is easy to snap off and on again. It stores inside our utensil drawer with ease, and we love the silicon grips which work to stop it slipping around when used on a chopping board. Highly recommend!

works great on medium cheddar. OXO makes good stuff. little more expensive than many others, but worth it . You get what you pay for.
