The Captain and Me

As a teenager I was so lucky to be introduced to The Doobie Brothers with this ALBUM. I felt like I had been trransported to my special world. Not one person I went to school with had any idea of this band or their GENIUS. SO MANY ARE SO TRUE TODAY. This is my 8th or 9th copy. I have loved each one of them and hope to have them around until I meet :THE SPIRIT IN THE SKY

If you like the Doobie Brothers you will love this. I don’t have an MQA decoder for my CD player but I do use a Red Dragonfly on my laptop to get that hi resolution sound. On my CD player (Motiva) with no MQA decoder it reads the UHQCD layer of the cd which has a higher bit rate and resolution than a normal cd and you really notice the difference the clarity just blurts our at you.

Great music that stands the test of time. If you like the Doobies, you'll like this. It was a decent sounding album in the day, and even better yet with Mobile Fidelity.

A clean recording like you would expect from a CD. Of course, it is no lp in that the mids and warmth of an analog recording are not as present. But one cannot have everything all the time. It was a good comprimize.

when i bought this i only knew long train running and china grove. i bought this because it was dvd audio and i enjoy surround sound albums a lot. this is a fantastic album from start to finish and the surround mix is great. i would recommend this album to those even just buying the cd, but still reckon they should get the dvd-audio (i believe there is a 5.1 sacd now, get that if it is cheaper) get this album if you have ever liked the doobies
