YIHUA #948G Replacement Desoldering Tip — Solid, precise, and built to last
Verdict: 5★ — swapped this tip onto my YIHUA desoldering iron and it restored the vacuum and precision like a new unit. Real-life use: I replaced the worn tip after a month of garage repairs—pulling old solder from PS5 board mods and some warehouse controller fixes—and it made removing stubborn joints way faster without me having to jiggle the board. Q&A: Build quality/durability — heavy-duty brass plating, shows minimal wear after dozens of pulls; Install/setup — slides on tight and heats evenly, no wobble; Comparison — way better fit and suction recovery than the cheap knockoff tip I used before. Who this is for: Hobbyists and pros who repair consoles, PCBs, or controllers and want a reliable, long-lasting replacement tip.

Great.
Working great so far. Mistake I made with my original gun was I didn't clean it often. That's a must. Working great now and does the job well.

Cheap
It's not a Weller but its affordable, the tips are cheaply coated and if you don't carefully use it, then you have to keep buying them. We go tit promptly.

Exactly what I needed !
Very affordable way to solve the issue if you damaged your gun while trying to clean it. Apparently the tip is not solid but ships with solder in the hole. Don’t worry if it appears to have a solid tip. A hole will appear when you use it

Works Fairly Well, Can Get Hot if used too many times in a row.
To unclog the spring can mean using a soldering iron tip at the narrow end to melt the solder to get it out of the spring. They do not seem to sell replacement white filters for it. When you put it apart after cleaning, make sure the spring does NOT touch the plastic tub or using this can melt that tube. Again, not spare parts are sold, but this entire assembly only costing $30USD, almost makes it a "why bother", although the white filter would be nice. I have taken a Hakko filter and split in half for this gun. The tip holds up. The sucker pump could be slightly more powerful. I would love the Hakko version of this, but not at $800. Over-all, it is pretty good, but does require a lot of maintenance when de-soldering a lot of ICs.

Works great!
This unit was purchased for a 948 solder station purchased at an auction. While the soldering iron was present and complete, the desoldering gun was missing pieces and had one piece broken off, to the point that it made more sense to buy the entire gun rather than the pieces to fix the old one. This unit plugged right in and worked perfectly right out of the box, as expected. Would buy again, if needed, but I don't expect that this gun will be abused like the previous one was.

Great replacement
I had completely obliterated my original desoldering gun on my YIHUA desoldering station and gotten something completely jammed inside of it. I was pleasantly surprised that the desoldering station kit I had bought years ago still sold replacement desoldering guns. This new one works better than ever!

Piece of junk
This is my second gun within 1.5 years. The first one lost all suction all of a sudden and ceased to work, regardless of what I tried to do to fix it. . I can only assume it wore out. So, I purchased this part hoping to fix it. I do a lot of soldering/de-soldering and needed to be able to continue working. This is junk......Right out of the box it was blocked. I spent over an hour and still couldn't get it unblocked. Mind you, I hadn't even used it yet. Whatever was blocking it was larger than the tiny solder tip cover that comes on the new tip. Finally I turned it up as hot as it would go and began to repeatedly push hard with the wire de-clogger tool that originally came with it. While pushing as hard as I could, it finally broke the clog, but the force of the pressure caused my hand to slip and my fingers went over the tip of the iron, resulting in blistering burns on my thumb and index finger. After less than 30 minutes of use, it was clogged again with the same type of block. Upon removing the solder chamber, I found the internal rod had pulled completely out of the assembly, rendering it useless. Obviously some sort of defect. It's getting returned. I don't have time to waste un-clogging this thing when I need to be de-soldering. Better quality control is needed here. This should've never left the factory.

Missing Hole in tip... what would the point of a closed/sealed end be?
was sealed end purchased to replace worn out/plugged ends, fail being it came with soldering end air tight.
