Bought this as a gift for my brother, and loved the simple step-by-step given in the book. There is a good variety of things to draw, from heavily detailed to more basic sketches. The pages are also good quality and have already withstood being thumbed through by the kids well. Couldn't recommend more for aspiring little artists

My 9yr old nephew absolutely loves this book. He has followed the very easy instructions abs has drawn me someone wonderful pictures. He is an arty child and I must say this book has really given him more inspiration with attention to detail. His drawings have improved remarkably and I love every picture he sends me. It’s a bonus for me as I now get more post 😘

A really interesting and absorbing book which does what it says on the tin. My grandchildren love it and it is at just the right level. What is a pity? That the pages are unable to be laid flat. I appreciate that the cost of the book would rise - but it would be worth it so the children are not ferreting around to find something appropriate to plonk on the page to keep it down - and it not work most of the time?

We wanted a step by step book for our 7 year old that wasn’t cartoon style. This is great and he finds it easy to do. He’s also able to grow with this book!

This is a great book that really helps develop skill and technique. So many children's art books are simple cartoon style drawings. This book has creative ideas that build on techniques including shading and shaping. My 10yr old son has done some great work using this book. Highly recommended.

perfect for intended child's age as present

Quite a good book. The drawings are not great but that can be a good thing because then you don't feel so bad about your own efforts. The glaring mistake is the railway lines under the sleepers instead of on top.

A gift for our 11 yr old, who has really enjoyed working her way through the boom trying out beware techniques. Easy to follow step by step guides and lots of different styles to try. Good value for money!
