Perfect fit OEM
OEM unbeatable Fit. Had purchased an aftermarket before this one but it was hard and not supple. This AC Delco was what I should have purchased first. IMPORTANT: This is ONLY based on my case but I feel that others could benefit. I read from multiple sources even YouTube NOT TO ATTEMP to install or slide it through the Shifter, instead the correct method consists on removing the Shifter , cable , etc a more labor and time consuming approach. I would like to share that I was indeed able to install it sliding it through the Shifter ( wish I had done a video and upload it, many fellas could benefit from it ) The only thing I did was : I applied a very thin coat of Dielectric grease on the thicker area of the thicker part of the shifter as well as the inside of the rubber. I carefully and slowly inserted it and once it passed the thicker part, I cleaned with with Dawn , water and a microfiber towel to remove the grease from the shifter and boot and 5 minutes later it was done. No need to remove the front of the Dash or anything at all, just moved the steering up and down and partially on the key are only the bottom plastic cover.

Bought for a 2001 Blazer
My old shifter boot that was 24 years old was completely torn and falling apart. I had a gaping hole where my shifter handle goes into the steering column. I knew I had to do something about it because it just looks bad and makes the truck feel crappy. So, I decided to buy this Genuine GM shift boot for my 2001 Blazer. This new shifter boot seems to be noticeably thicker than the older design one from 2001, so that’s a plus. Should last even longer than the original 24 year old one that came off my truck! Fitment also was perfect. Zero complaints there. The price is kind of expensive for what it is, but you really can’t complain because it’s well made and fits perfect.

Factory GM OEM part
I’m restoring an 01 Suburban to showroom condition, this part is factory GM. Great price and fast shipping. Install is simple, unsnap the steering column cover, separate the two halves just enough to remove the old one. Lube the outer surface of the shift knob with silicone spray lube, coat interior of new boot with silicone spray and slide it over the shifter. Turn the boot inside out on shift arm and clean up spray lube. Place the new boot into position and clip the plastic halves back around the new boot. It took me all of 5 minutes to replace it. No need to do what the YouTube techs tell you with removing all the plastic under dash and shift arm to unplug wires. It slides right over the tow haul knob with some silicone lube. New pic, old pic. This has to be the best deal on Amazon.

Good replacement part.
I went with the warm water and dish soap approach said by another reviewer and it worked well but I made the mistake of using my needle nose plyers to push it over the button of the overdrive part on the end and it ripped the rubber. It was clearly my fault but I would advise just using your hands. Otherwise it worked great and after hiding the tear looks great.

Super easy install on my Avalanche
Fit perfect on my 2002 Avalanche. Tilt column all the way down. Just gently pull apart column cover area near shifter. No need to pull shifter off. Put dish soap on inside of boot and slip over shifter. Then with boot kinda inside out, clean off soap. Part # should go at top. May be easier to pull off dash bezel to access. Just pull straight towards you. No tools at all for entire process. 10 min deal.
